Fusion card challenge daisies

Happy friday crafty people!  I hope you all had a great week.  Mine has gone so fast I can’t quite believe it but I’m taking it as a sign of enjoying myself and nothing to do with getting older (eek please humour me!!)

Today I have an entry for the Fusion card challenge which has the theme of daisies.  I love this challenge as it gives you a sketch and a theme and you can use one or both.  Check out http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2018/08/fusion-daisies.html for all the information.

And here is my finished card.  It was a pretty quick one to make but I’m quite pleased with the result.  I used flower dies from a Tattered Lace set and finished them off with dovecraft liquid pearls to cover the hole in the middle.  The embossed section is another Anna Griffin embossing folder from Cuttlebug and I thought the flowers linked with the theme.  The sentiment came from a Hunkydory set with a recent magazine.

I hope that you like the card and that you are winding down for a fun weekend.  Thanks again for stopping by to my wee corner of the internet.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (352)

Hi crafty people, how are you all doing?  Today I would like to share a card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (FMS352).  The sketch is …..

FMS Final 352-001

I was inspired to make a macaron themed card as we picked some up at the weekend and we are enjoying the various flavours plus they are so pretty!  This was the first one out of the box and it was irn bru flavoured hence the blue and orange colours! If you haven’t heard of it, Irn Bru is the top selling fizzy drink in Scotland and it’s delicious.

So I pulled out a macaron die and I used a sentiment from the Altenew way too sweet stamps.  The background was embossed with the Regal Braid embossing folder from Anna Griffin for Cuttlebug.  I also used a macaron stamp to make a subtle background on the strip across the card (although I think it is so subtle it’s not really visible in the pictures!)

And here is my finished card…..

I hope that you like my card and that you are having a great day.

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 351

Happy Monday crafty people!  I hope your week has got off to a really good start.  Today I’m sharing a card for the Freshly Made Sketches just before the deadline!  The sketch for this challenge is….

FMS Final 351-001

And here is my card……

I used three sizes of flower stamps from Stamps by Chloe and I stamped them onto  Sheena Douglas Stamping card and heat embossed them in gold.  I used distress oxide inks to watercolour the flowers and then fussy cut them once dry.  The sentiment came from the Delightful day set from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

Fusion card challenge – galaxy challenge

Hi crafty people!  I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.  I’ve had a weekend full of cake, catching up with friends and a last outing to the Edinburgh Fringe for another year.  Today I’m sharing a card for the Fusion card challenge (http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com/2018/08/fusion-galaxy.html ) which has the theme of “galaxy”.

20180822_134854

I used the Starry sky stamp set from For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory and a star embossing folder.  The inky background was made by blending distress inks before heat embossing the stars in silver.

100 Things Challenge

100 Things Challenge #22-31

Hi crafty people, I’m back this weekend with another update on my 100 Things challenge where I try to use up some of my crafty stash by making one hundred crafty projects.  Some of these have been on the blog before and some are featured for the first time.  They are mostly cards with one exception which is an altered notebook for my lovely friend Caroline who I do regular crafty swaps with.  I hope that you like this selection.

Have a fab Saturday and thanks again for stopping by.

100 Things Challenge

100 Things Challenge #11-21

Happy Saturday everyone, today I have a quick post sharing the next 10 things from my “100 things challenge”.  Quite a few of these projects have been in other blog posts so I’m not going into detail but just giving an overview.  I need to start using more items in my stash that I tend to hoard, so far I’ve been making an effort to use more gems and enamel dots and some patterned papers.

I hope you have a fab weekend with some crafty time.  Thanks again for stopping by.

Wild and free!

Hi everyone, how are you doing today?  It’s still really windy here but at least the sun is shining and I’m looking forward to an outing to the Edinburgh Fringe tonight to see a couple of comedy shoes with my hubby.

My post today is sharing a card I made for the 92nd Male Room Challenge where the theme is “wild and free”.

I used the above two stamp sets, one from Creative Stamping magazine and the Go Wild set from For the Love of Stamps by Hunkydory.  I heat embossed the border in gold on craft card.  The sun set sky was made with distress oxides in (spiced marmalade and abandoned coral) and distress inks  (barn door and mustard seed) before stamping the silhouettes in black ink.

I hope you like my safari card, i love this theme as it brings back happy memories of holidays in South Africa.  Have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow with another card challenge entry.  Thanks for stopping by.

Another day, another sketch!

Happy hump day everyone!  I hope you are all having a great day.  Today I’m sharing two cards inspired by the sketch from the September 2018 issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine (see page 86 for the sketch and three different card ideas).

20180808_152400

The first card I made using the autumnal stamps from a recent issue of Creative Stamping magazine.  I used the acorn stamp and three colours of memento inks to create the panels.  Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a dark brown circle.  I stamped the squirrel in brown archive ink and used a mixture of distress oxide inks and memento inks to watercolour the squirrel before fussy cutting it out and layering onto a larger dark brown circle.  I finished off with some orange enamel dots.  I know it’s technically still summer but it feels like autumn is on it’s way here in Scotland.  The weather is cooler and it’s been really windy and wet, although to be fair that description could be used across all four seasons here!!

20180808_152445

The second card I used one of the patterned paper downloads and the peacock feather stamps from the magazine gift too.  I added some purple, navy and gold cardstock and some purple gems for a bit of bling!

20180808_152501

I really enjoyed playing with the sketch and love how different the cards turned out from one layout.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like the cards.

Happy birthday to the Male Room Challenge

Hi there crafty folks, I’m back with a card for the Male Room Challenge (number 91) and the theme is birthday as it’s their 5th birthday!

I decided to go with a golf theme and used the stepper card template from this post (https://gingerninjacrafts.wordpress.com/2018/07/18/happy-birthday-to-brew/) and was pretty pleased with the outcome.

I was delighted last week to see that my previous entry had been given an honourable mention!  It made my day.  I hope that you like this card and I’d love to hear what you think.
