Don’t Let Anyone Burst Your Bubble!

Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing well. I’m back with my entry for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers who are on W for Water this time. They have such fun challenges and I love seeing the cards the design team come up with, there is always a couple that make me laugh out loud!

I used a digi stamp and background paper from Doctor Digi. The stamp is Bath Time Deirdery and I coloured it with alcohol pens and then fussy cut it out. I added the image to a some white card layered up with some pale blue card. To finish off the image I used a glitter stickles for all the bubble bath and added some nuvo drops around as if bubbles are floating around the bathroom.

The background bubble paper is the second one in the set from Doctor Digi. I added a sentiment from a Tracey Hey stamp set.

I love the characters that Doctor Digi creates, they always make me smile. I always have a book to read in the bath but I’m sure if I attempted a newspaper it would end in a soggy mess! I hope that you are keeping safe and well. Thank you so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, you have made my day!

I dare you to go 3D!

Hi crafty people, today there is a new challenge up at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge and this time we are daring you to go 3D and make a bag or a box. I used a Docrafts A4 Gift Bag die to make this project.

The die cuts the bag in 2 pieces which I glued together. I added a strip of kraft card with some complementary paper and I cut some of the detail of the paper used for the bag to add to the strip. Then I cut a scalloped circle and added a die cut letter. To finish off I added some sequins.

I can’t wait to see what 3d projects you will all be making!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #254 – Summer & a Sentiment

Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing well today. I’m here to share the new Aud Sentiments Challenge which starts today and runs until the 6th of July. The theme is Summer and for once Scotland got the memo and the sun is shining! The only rules are that you must include a sentiment in your project.

For my project I used a beautiful digi stamp by Julia McNeill Crafts, Willow which was a freeby through the Kit and Clowder Facebook page a few weeks ago.

I cut a strip off the front of the card base to start with so there is a visible portion of the inside. I coloured Willow with alcohol markers and fussy cut her out. The background is an inked panel with a Tonic Studios background cut into it. I added some Tattered Lace flowers which had been painted with a water brush and some squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink. The side panel is a strip of the same inky panel mounted onto black card and stamped with a vertical sentiment and with a flower to finish it off.

I hope that you like my summery card and that you have some sunshine to enjoy today. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and don’t forget to enter your summer projects over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge before the 6th of July.

Butterfly Embellishments

Hi crafty people, how are you all today? I’ve not been on the blog for a few days and I’m aware I have quite a few comments to respond to and blogs to catch up with. Very sadly my father in law passed away very suddenly at the weekend so we have been pretty shocked and trying to get our heads around it. We are not able to travel to South Africa for the funeral due to the lockdown so we will be watchng it online on Friday morning which will be very strange. Thank goodness for technology in times like this.

I shared some handmade embellishments on my youtube video today as part of a collaboration. I thought I would share a few pictures and say hello.

There are also some cute mini envelopes and mermaid rosettes in the video which you can watch here.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate every comment and like left on my blog. I’ll be back tomorrow for another blog post, hope you are all doing well.

Penguin Agenda – Penguin Palace

Hello again crafty people! I’m back with my second blog post today…. well it’s actually my third as my guest post is up over at The Paper Tree tutorial blog! I was very kindly gifted the Penguin Agenda stamp set by Jeni over at The Paper Tree. This is such a cute stamp set and it’s even on special offer at the moment!

I loved the phone theme in the stamps so for this project I made a cute little mobile phone embellishment. I used black centura card (5 x 8 cm) and white card (4 x 6.5 cm) with the corners rounded. I added a small silver circle. I blended some lucky clover distress ink through a circle stencil before adding one of the wee party penguins on a 3d sticky pad. The sentiment is in the set.

I masked a stripe along my card base and blended some distress oxides (twisted citron, cracked pistachio, lucky clover, peacock feathers, salty ocean and blueprint sketch). I also blended some lucky clover on a piece of scrap card to add make a mat for the sentiment. The finishing touch is a few Nuvo jewel drops in key lime, aqua plains and steel blue.

I hope you like my penguin phone, I got a little addicted and made a few more, which I’m sharing over on instagram today. Check out my project for The Paper Tree on their blog.

Have a great Friday and I’ll be back soon.

Glam Girl

Happy Friday! It’s time for another prompt over at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge and the lovely Ruth is hosting this week’s challenge. The prompt is “Glamorous” and you can make whatever makes you feel like a movie star!

It took me a little while to come up with a plan for this one and then I remembered I had a Hunkydory kit that would be just perfect. The Collage-a-Card includes several shaped cards with embellishments and I used the “Beautiful Dress” set. The different elements were pressed out from the sheet and the little pips trimmed off.

I folded the second mannequin (which comes pre scored) to make a stand for the card.

I glued the bodice onto the mannequin and folded pleats into the skirt before gluing in place. The rose and bow were added with a little glue.

The folded mannequin was glued onto the back of the main outline.

The sentiment was glued onto the skirt and the finishing touch of the pearl trim was glued into place with a hot glue gun on the reverse of the card.

Voila! A glamorous outfit fit for a movie star! I hope you will visit the Daring Cardmakers Challenge to see all the other projects created by the design team and share your glam makes too! I’ll be back this afternoon with another design team post.

Hugs and Happiness

Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing well. It’s been a misty and wet weekend in Scotland which is perfect crafting weather! Today I am sharing a card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (number 439).

I decided to use another die cut from a recent swap I took part in, a square with circles around the edge. I layered it with a square of lilac patterned card from my stash of left over bits and pieces! I stamped and coloured one of my favourite cuties from the Rhino Rascals stamp set by Tracey Hey. The sentiment I’m using comes from a Marianne Design set.

I added some tattered rose distress ink to the centre of the white panel and die cut a little scribble circle die in a pale lilac vellum.

I added the cute rhino and sentiment and a few nuvo jewel drops (pale periwinkle and steel blue) to complete the card.

I think my favourite thing is those little mouse slippers, every rhino needs some spotty mouse slippers I think! I hope you are all safe and well.

T is for Technique

Hi crafty people, how are you today? I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend! I’m here today as a guest designer for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge as I was crowned the Queen of Snark for their M is for Magic challenge with my witchy Stella project.

Part of my royal duties (well all of them really!) is to be a guest designer for a challenge so here is my post for the brand new challenge….. T is for Technique!

I decided to use die cutting and stamping as they are my most used techniques. I chose to use the Life Happens stamp set from Hot off the Press and the chocolate squares die from Tattered Lace.

I used centura pearl card in chocolate brown and a cadburys purple colours and added some nuvo glitter drops.

I hope it made you smile and that you have some chocolate today!

Wing it!

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a good week and ready for the weekend. I’m here today to share the new challenge starting at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

The theme is “Wing It!” and you can use anything with wings on your cards this week – insects, birds, fairies or even planes!

I recently participated in a die cut swap organised by a crafty You Tuber. I got a beautiful selection including a few pretty butterflies so I decided to use one of them for today’s card. The die cut is a butterfly with one wing a solid shape and the other a detailed pattern.

I started by masking off the fancy side with a post it and stamping the solid side with a script stamp in blueprint skecth distress oxide ink. Then I blended the same ink onto the fancy side. To create the base I cut three mats, two in a dark navy and one in white. I stamped the same script around the outer edge of the white card and then layered them up. I added a sentiment “with love” from a Clearly Besotted stamp set and heat embossed this in white. I added the butterfly with some 3d pads and then finished off with a few nuvo jewel drops in steel blue.

I hope you like my card and that you will hop over and join in with your cards with wings on! Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!
