Cardmaking

Happy Saint Andrews Day!

Hi crafty people, how are you all doing?  I’m procraftinating with this blog post instead of tidying up my craft room so I’m squeezed into one small corner of my desk which is piled up with stuff which needs to find it’s home.  Does anyone else do this or is it just me? (please say I’m not alone hehe!).

I can’t believe it’s the end of November already but as it is Saint Andrews Day I thought I would make a wee Scottish card for the blog today.

I used the thistle die from Britannia Dies and paper pieced it before mounting it on a green tartan heart.  The scalloped heart is cut from purple centura pearl card .  The stamp is from a K Craft stamp set.

What do you think?  Is anyone celebrating Saint Andrews Day today?  I’ve got a veggie haggis for dinner which we will have with neeps and tatties (turnips and potatoes!) and a whisky sauce.  I’m sure my hubbie will also have a wee dram or two to celebrate!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Ginger Ninja Craft blog and I hope that you are having a great day wherever you are.

Star fold cards

Hi there! I thought it was about time I shared a fancy fold card which I’ve been playing with recently.  I watched a couple of tutorials to get the basics and then had a play with some copier paper to get the measurements for a couple of sizes.  Please excuse my scrappy drawings here but I thought it might save someone some time if they wanted to make some of these cute cards.

The first one I used the smaller size, starting with a 21 cm square.  I used some Hobbycraft festive paper, a coordinating gem and added a sparkly sentiment in the middle using the Wow embossing powder in Calypso.

For the larger version I used a 30 cm square and some pretty floral paper from a Trimcraft pad.  I added a few rose gold butterflies and a rose gold sentiment inside.  I’m sure I will be able to use this card once the spring comes round!

I hope you like my star cards.  I’d love to see if you have a go at making these what you come up with.  Do you have a favourite fancy fold card to make?

Thanks again for stopping by my blog.
