Oh Christmas Tree

Hi crafty people, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate it. We had a fab day at home with my Mum staying for a couple of nights.  We had a really relaxing Christmas day and then went to see the new Mary Poppins film on boxing day which was fantastic.  Has anyone else seen it yet?  We went out the next day (can you tell I don’t know what day of the week that was…. or even is now?!) for a walk and visited Blackness Castle (which has been used in the filming of Outlander and the Outlaw King).  We got a membership to Historic Scotland recently as a gift and so this was our first use of the card and it was a great start.  I’m hoping that we will visit lots of castles over the next year.

But anyway I’m here to enter another challenge, I think my last for 2018!  This card is for the Alphabet Challenge which is currently at T for Trees.  I made up this card using  a magazine gift from a few months ago.  I used to do cross stitch (and I intend to pick it up again in 2019) so I loved the embroidery theme of this set.  I made the Christmas tree card first.

Then I made a Santa version too.  So I have a couple of cards in my 2019 Christmas card stash and it’s not even New Year yet!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog and I’d love to hear how your week has been.

Hi crafty people, I hope you are  enjoying the build up to Christmas, I can’t believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!  I thought I would squeeze in one last challenge before the big day!  Today I am sharing a card for the Male Room Challenge which has the theme of the colour blue.

#101

This challenge is perfect as I was just about to make a card for my husband and his favourite colour is…… blue!  I used a stocking die from Sweet Dixie and added some white glitter card and green mirror card for the details.  I used some navy blue card and snowflake paper from my stash to add some layers.

We swapped cards today and he was really happy with it.  I hope you like my blue card too.

Tomorrow will be a busy day of making mince pies, visiting the Christmas market to soak up the atmosphere and watching some festive films with some yummy treats and maybe a glass or 2 of fizz.  I hope that you all have a lovely Christmas and I’ll see you after all the excitement is over!

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge – Christmas

Happy hump day crafty people!  I thought I would share this card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge which has the theme Christmas.  I loved this card so much I made it in a bunch of different colours!

The background was made with Cosmic Shimmer Pixie powders and I tried to use a piece with some white areas to look like the reindeer was standing in snow!  The reindeer die is an old one and I can’t remember where it was from but I really love it.  I added an eye and a nose using nuvo crystal drops.

I hope that you like my reindeers and that you are all having a lovely festive week.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopefully I will see you again soon.

Christmas Eve Ride

Hi crafty people, I’m back with another crafty challenge, this time the Fusion Card Challenge  with the theme “Christmas Eve ride”.

Fusion Dec 6-001

I went with the photo and not the sketch this time as I had a special request for a custom card which fitted perfectly with this challenge!  The request was for a New York themed card so I combined the NY skyline with Santa flying by on Christmas Eve.

I made a distress ink background with and masked off the moon with a circle die cut from a post it.  The Santa die is from Sue Wilson.  The skyline building die was free with a magazine and the statue of Liberty is from Tonic Studios.  I inked up some white cardstock with Distress oxide in cracked pistachio before cutting out Liberty and I thought it was a pretty good colour match.

I hope you like my Christmas Eve card even if it is a week early (at least I’m early with one thing for Christmas this year!).  How are all your preparations going?

Thanks for stopping by the blog and I hope to see you again soon.

Owl I want for Christmas is you!

Happy Monday crafty people!  How was your weekend?  We had a really nice weekend although I didn’t really get much on the to do list done!

Today I’m sharing my entry for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge (367) and the sketch for this challenge is …FMS367

I opted to use the Lawn Fawn Winter Owl stamp set and some papers from my pile I’m trying to use up.  I used a snowy paper for the background and then this textured white cardstock for the front panel.  I can’t remember where I got it but I thought it could almost pass for swirls of snow!

I coloured the owl with alcohol pens and added glossy accents to the eyes.

I hope you like my wee festive owl.  Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Celebrate with a roar!

Hi crafty people, hope you are having a great weekend.

Today I would like to share my entry for the 100th Male Room Challenge which has the theme Celebrate.

#100

I must admit I made this card a few weeks ago for My husband’s birthday and I keep forgetting to share it on my blog, but the king of the jungle sending birthday wishes in a crown has got to count as a celebration hasn’t it?!

20181215_121751

I bought this Tonic Studios lion die at a recent craft fair in Glasgow and I just had to use it for this card as my husband is from South Africa and loves cats (just as well as we have three sharing our home!).  I found some cute gingham paper that I thought matched the lion colours and then mounted it all on a black square to make it stand out a bit more.  I think the Happy Birthday was from a Tattered Lace set and the stamp was from Clearly Besotted.

I hope that you like my celebratory lion and I’d love it if you said hi in the comments.  Thanks so much for stopping to have a look at my blog and I hope to see you again soon.

S for Season’s Greetings

Happy hump day crafty people!  How’s your week going?  I’m super busy with Christmas orders for my Etsy shop and trying to get my own Christmas cards finished and sent off.  However, I did manage to escape the Christmas crafting last night to go for pizza and to see Once upon a Deadpool last night.  We had seen (and loved) Deadpool 2 but it was fun to watch and there was a lovely memorial to Stan Lee at the very end which would have brought a tear to a glass eye!

Today I would like to share my entry for the the new Alphabet Challenge which currently is to make a card using S for Season’s Greetings.  I decided to go with a stamped santa as a focal image for the card.  This one was part of a free magazine gift and I stamped it in black memento ink and heat embossed it with a sparkly embossing powder.  I coloured it with alcohol pens (I have a mix of nuvo, spectrum noirs and first edition markers) and added a little more sparkle with my spectrum noir crystal clear sparkle pen.

20181211_130018

I then mounted him on the card with a couple of different papers that were also gifts with magazines (trying to use up some of my paper stash as it is a little out of hand!) and a little row of nuvo drops in red.  The final touch was to add the Season’s Greetings stamp, can you guess where it came from? Yup it was free with a magazine!  I think there is definitely a theme for this blog post!

Anyway I hope that you like my card and if you haven’t had a look at the Alphabet Challenge that you will pop over to see some of the fab entries and maybe play along.

Thanks so much for visiting Ginger Ninja Crafts blog today and I hope to see you again soon.

Got the gift tags….. just need to buy some gifts!

Hi crafty people!  My Christmas crafting catch up continues today with a batch of gift tags for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which has the theme of Wrap it up this week.

I have a big pile of off cuts of card which I thought would be good for cutting tags from.  Does anyone else love it when you can use up scraps of paper and card?  I find it so satisfying!!  Anyway,  I used a stitched tag die to cut some Kraft card tags.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in nuvo glacier white and then heat embossed some cute little trees.  The powders I used were gold (funstamps) and green glitz and red glitz (Wow).

Lastly I added some bakers twine with a gold thread through it.

I’ve added them to my tag stash so all I really need to do now is get the presents and wrap them before I can add a tag!  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and I hope to see you again soon.

A joyful card!

Hi crafty people, how was your weekend? We had a lovely relaxed weekend with a little bit of shopping, catching up on a few Outlander episodes and a chilly but bright walk.

Today I am here with a card for a challenge which is new to me.  It’s the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 460 and the current challenge is to make a card using red, green and white.

CIC460 Kitty Bee Designs

I pulled out a wreath die which came free with a die cutting essentials magazine a month or two back and I hadn’t had a chance to play with it yet! I cheated slightly and added gold as well as the red, green and white!  I cut the wreath 3 in gold, red and green mirror card and then paper pieced the baubles.  It was a bit fiddly but I was pleased with the effect when it was finished!  The die set also included the bows and the word joy so I cut them from matt card and added the bows with some 3d pads to give a bit of dimension.

20181210_154810

I mounted the wreath on a white card panel with the sentiment in the middle and then layered it on a red square before adding to a green square card base.

I think it’s a nice cheerful card with a traditional feel about it.  I hope you like my card and I’d love it if you left me a message in the comments.

Thanks so much for stopping by the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog and I hope to see you again soon.

Freshly Made Sketches 366

Hi crafty people, I hope you are all having a great weekend.  Today I am sharing my entry for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge which has this fun sketch….

FMS Final 366-001

I am still on a roll of reindeers today so I opted for a rudolph as the focal image using this die I’ve had in my stash for a while now (sorry I can’t remember where I got it from!).  I made the stripes in the background by inking up some card stock with embossing ink and adding embossing powder.  I used the Wow rose gold powder on white card and on a pale gold paper I used a powder which I have had for over 10 years I think.  It’s called stardust and I think the make is Funstamps.  I finished off the card with a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted and some nuvo crystal drops in ivory seashell and antique rose.

20181207_153217

I hope that you like my card, I was quite pleased with it and I think I might make a batch of these to send to people as I’m still needing to make cards to send!

Thanks so much for popping over to my blog and I hope that you will say Hi in the comments and come back again soon!
