Daring Card makers Challenge – Baubles, Boxes and Bows!

Happy Friday and welcome to our last Daring Cardmakers challenge of 2021! Our theme this week is Baubles, Boxes and Bows, three things beginning with B – you can choose one of them or all three to feature when you make your project this week!
Maybe make a bauble to put in a box and decorate with a bow!
Remember it doesn’t have to be Christmas themed, and it can be a card or anything else you’re inspired to get crafty and make.
We’ll leave this challenge open until we return on 7th January 2022 after our Christmas break

I had treated myself to some new bauble dies from Marianne Designs so I cut some from a hollographic mirror card and added some alcohol inky yupo papers I had made. Here is an example of the yupo with my attempts with alcohol inks.

…. and with the baubles ….

….. and then on the cards…..

I kept the card very clean and simple to allow the baubles to shine, just a stamped sentiment and a few nuvo drops! I hope you like my take on this challenge and that you will hop on over to see my design team colleagues beautiful projects. Can’t wait to see what you guys make for this week.

Trim the tree – I dare you!

Happy Friday crafty friends! It’s time for our new Daring Cardmakers Challenge and this week we’d love to see some trees on your projects, please! They can be any kind of tree you like, a Christmas Tree,  a Wonderful Winter Landscape or maybe some shady palm trees if you’re in warmer climes!
Make it just one tree or a whole forest.

I love putting up our Christmas tree and decorating it because so many of our decorations are from special people or places so they bring back lots of lovely memories. This is our tree this year….

For my tree themed project I wanted to try out some new brusho colours which I recently ordered.

I heat embossed some trees and snow flakes on 6 x 8 cm pieces of mixed media paper. Then I added the brusho crystals and sprayed with water before adding a few tiny drops of diluted bleach. You can check out the video on my YouTube channel to see what I did.

I love how the effect varies so here are the different panels from the first batch I made.

The only downside is I ended up with really stained hands…. like it might appear I have murdered a smurf!

However it was worth it and I’ve since made another 20 for one of the recipients of the first batch! Hope you are keeping safe and well and finding some time for crafting.

Happy Friday! Can you believe it’s Decemeber? I’m a bit in shock but enjoying getting in the festive spirit! As it’s the first Friday of a new month we have an elemental challenge for the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

Our December mood board is all about the excitement of getting ready for Christmas.  The house needs decorating and the gifts need wrapping so there’s holly and stars, wrapping paper and twine, baubles and candy canes… and loads more goodies to choose from.  Just pick any 3 elements or more from from the picture below (the colour palette counts as one) to use when you make your card.

I decided to use the wood, burlap, glitter gold and the red shiny star for inspiration. Here is my finished card….

I hope you are keeping safe, well and cosy! See you again soon.
