Think of a number – I dare you!

Happy Friday everyone! This week on the Daring Card Makers Challenge Kathy is hosting us and she has asked us to “Think of a Number”. She would like you to make one or more numerals the stars of your card in some way this time. It could be for one of those ‘special number’ birthdays or anniversaries. using a background formed from numbers or perhaps you could even make a number shaped card.

I decided to make a golden wedding card with a Scottish twist…..

I hope you will join us and share your cards with numbers as the stars of the show!

Up up and away… I dare you!

Happy Friday crafty friends, how has your week been going? It’s time for this week’s new Daring Cardmakers Challenge and Enfys is our host this week with the challenge prompt “Up, up and away!” she is looking for us to make balloons the focal point of your card, they can be party balloons or hot air balloons.

I have a balloon die in my stash from the Party collection by First Edition Craft so I cut a whole bunch in some birthday pattern papers. I then created an inky sky for these balloons to float in. To start with I smooshed some blueprint sketch on my glass mat spritzed with water and applied to some white card stock.

I cut it down to size for my tall card base and then used a cloud stencil from Trinity Stamps and some inks to add some clouds.

I added my balloons in a bunch at the top and then stamped a grumpy cat to add to the card from one of the Tim Holtz Snarky cats stamp sets.

I fussy cut him out and then added one of the sentiments to finish off my snarky card.

This stamp set is so fun and I love the cheeky sentiments, although I think I would only send these cards to people with the same sarcastic sense of humour as me! I can’t wait to see all your balloon themed cards over at t he Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog, my design team chums have made some gorgeous samples to inspire your makes too!

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge #290 – Anything Goes

Hi crafty friends! I hope you are all having a great week. It’s time for our first Aud Sentiments Challenge of 2022 and it’s an Anything Goes prompt so everyone can join in really easily!

Our challenge is now just once a month but we have two sponsors for our challenge this month, Stamper’s Delights and Di’s Digi Delights. I was very kindly gifted a digi stamp to use for this month from Stamper’s Delights.

I printed my stamp (Chibi My Kind of Crazy) which comes with a sentiment too and coloured it with my alcohol markers before fussy cutting her out. I added some patterned papers to a card base and played around with the arrangement of Chibi and the sentiment until I was happy. After gluing the elements down I added a little shading behind Chibi to make her look like she isn’t just floating around in mid air!

I hope you will share your makes with us, remember the only rule is really that you include a sentiment on your project! Crafty hugs

Daring Cardmakers January Elementary Challenge

Hello crafty friends, how are you all doing? I hope 2022 has started well for you. Ours has been pretty quiet as we try to stay out of the way of Covid! It’s time for our first Daring Cardmakers challenge of the year and the lovely Shabneez has collated some beautiful pictures to inspire our cardmaking this week. She says “I’ve chosen a cool, ethereal and textural mood-board to inspire your crafting at the start of this new year.
Just choose at least 3 elements from the picture to use when you make
your card.  As usual if you use the colour combo it counts as1 element “.

I treated myself to a few crafty treats in the sales and by coincidence I had some new sprays in the right colours for this challenge! I bought my first Lindy’s sprays, the Autumn Leaves Collection and I used three of them for this card. I sprayed water on some white card stock then at the bottom I sprayed “Autumn Maple Crimson”, then “Cattail Copper Brown” and then “Red Hot Poker Orange” to give a sort of ombre effect.

Once the panel was dry I cut it to size for my tall card base. I loved the sort of frosty look in the photos too so I pulled out some vellum and added a layer behind my ombre card panel. Then I used some stencils to add a little texture in white and dark brown.

I wanted to include the leafy foliage from the pictures so I stamped some plants along the bottom in Versafine Clair ink.

The final part was to die cut some birds perched on a wire, I layered up a black die cut on a vellum and added that to the card. My finishing touch was to doodle a little around the edge of the card and here is my finished card….

I’m a little obsessed with that shimmer from the starburst sprays, oh goodness I can feel this collection growing in 2022! I hope you will hop on over to see the gorgeous makes from my design team chums, they really are a talented bunch of crafters and share your cards with us too!

Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!
