A Walk on the Wild Side – I Dare You!

Happy Friday crafty people! This week Nat is hosting our Daring Cardmakers Challenge and she is inviting you to take a walk on the wild side by featuring animal prints or wild animals on your card.

I love animals and was spoilt for choice in my craft stash for this prompt! I decided to go with a fun giraffe and used the gorgeous Gabriella from the Giraffalicious digital stamp collection from JMC Designs. (I am a design team member for JMC Designs so this post contains some gifted items).

Giraffes are such beautiful animals and I’ve been lucky to see them when we have been on game drives in South Africa. This was on our last trip in 2019 when we came across these 2 having a scuffle. The were leaning on each other and hitting each other with their horns. Thankfully neither got injured and after a while they wandered back into the bush.

I love when you see them peeking out from the trees, enjoying some lunch, this was the inspiration for my card today.

I also used a background paper and some pre coloured leafy branches from the Happy Campers Digital collection.

I created a frame with a few layers of die cut cardstock and added some sky behind it. Then glued Gabriella into the frame and added the leafy branches to the bottom of the frame. The finishing touches were a die cut sentiment and some nuvo jewel drops in pale periwinkle and key lime. I hope she makes you smile today!

Come along and see the fabulous selection of wild cards made by the design team and I look forward to seeing your makes too.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #284 – Friendship and a sentiment

Hi crafty friends! How has your week been? I’m hopping on today with a new prompt for the Aud Sentiments Challenge. This time we are being tasked with making a friendship themed project (and please remember to include that important sentiment!)

We are very kindly sponsored by Polkadoodles who were generous in gifting the design team an image to use for this challenge. I was delighted to receive “Let’s Go Winnie“, a super cute digi stamp.

I am still on a mission to finish off some of my paper pad stash so the papers in this are all from one collection, including the die cut flowers and the little yellow “Hello”. I used a stamp from my stash to add the word friend to finish off the card.

Such a cute image, I’m fairly sure neither of my cats would tolerate any notions of me taking them for a walk! I hope you will hop over to check out the other beautiful cards made by my design team colleagues, they won’t disappoint! Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Going round in circles – I dare you!

Happy Friday crafty people! How are you all doing? I’ve had a good week making lots of Christmas cards for my Etsy shop and dithering about if I should sign up to any craft fairs for the upcoming festive season (I’m thinking not and hoping that things are much more under control for next year and I’ll be back with a bang then, is anyone else going for it this year?).

Anyway it’s Friday so that means it’s time for a new Daring Cardmakers Challenge! This week I am hosting and I decided to set the challenge to ask you to go round in circles!  I’d love to see circles of all sizes on your cards, you could use a round card base, a circle frame or include some spotty and dotty patterns.

For my project I started by making a bocca (is that how you spell it, please tell me if I’m wrong!) background using distress oxide inks in kitsch flamingo, worn lipstick and picked raspberry and brilliance moonlight white ink. I then die cut out a variety of circles in different sizes. I arranged these on a square card base and then added a die cut happy birthday and lots of nuvo drops (glitter drops – enchanting pink and crystal drops – metallic.

I hope you will hop on over to the blog to see all the design team makes and share you circle card. I can’t wait to see what you get a-round to!

Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Happy Friday! It is Friday isn’t it? Yesterday I was wishing people a happy Tuesday when someone kindly pointed out it was in fact Thursday! Oh dear, it’s been one of those weeks! However I do know that it’s time for a new Daring Cardmakers Challenge and we are being hosted by the lovely Kathy.

Kathy would just love to see cards celebrating and sharing the ‘Lurve‘ (or Love, if you prefer!)
Love comes in all shapes and sizes, doesn’t it?  So, although your card could be for a Wedding, Engagement or Anniversary but it doesn’t have to be, feel free to celebrate the love you feel for your friends, family, pets…., chocolate? gin? 😀
How about a beautiful card for your best friend, for no other reason than to let them know how much having them in your life means to you.

Here is my card and if you hop on over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog you will see all the other beautiful examples by the very talented Design Team!

Daring Cardmakers Challenge – September Elemental Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! How are you all today? I’ve had a busy but good week getting back into the swing of my routine after a lovely week away last week. Unbelievably it’s the start of another month so it must be time for an elemental challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers blog. Our host this week is Svenja and she has given us a fabulous picture packed full of inspiration…..

If this is your first time playing along, let me explain. All you have to do is take a minimum of three elements of the photo as inspiration and create a card! Here is what I made….

Can you see the elements I picked out? I used an adorable Frida stamp by Vera Lane Studio plus I added some yellow stars, some faux stitching and a franking stamp inspired by the postage stamps. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
