Bon Voyage – I dare you!

Happy Friday crafty friends, I hope you’ve had a great week and that you are ready for our next Daring Cardmakers Challenge! This week Rizwana is our host and she would like us to “create a travel themed card. Use maps, directions, tickets, planes, trains or automobiles. Anything travel related you could even use your best holiday destination. Have fun!”

I chose an elephant image to represent my favourite holiday destination which is going on safari in South Africa. We even had our wedding at a game reserve in South Africa and had some of our wedding photos taken with elephants……

Sorry! Any excuse to have a wee look at these happy photos!

I used a Tracey Hey stamp and coloured him up with my triblend markers from Spectrum Noir. I think he is meant to be carrying shopping bags but I thought they could be luggage!

I made a simple background by stamping Bon Voyage in 3 different shades of brown/grey ink (I used an Altenew set) and adding some rose gold nuvo drops. I popped up my elephant with some 3d sticky pads and voila!

I can’t wait to see all your travel themed projects and the inspiration behind them!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #282

Hi crafty friends, how are you all doing today? I’m here to share the brand new Aud Sentiments Challenge which starts today. Our new theme gives us a choice from Thinking of you, Get well or Sympathy Sentiments. Just remember all entries must include a sentiment!

This challenge is sponsored by Stampers Delights who kindly gifted the design team members an image to use. I was given Kawaii Medical Heroes 2 which is a set with two characters and three different sentiments.

Here is my project using two of the sentiments and one of the characters. I coloured them with a mix of triblend and copic markers, added some patterned papers and a couple of nuvo drops for the finishing touches.

I hope you will join in with our challenge, can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Bottles – I Dare You!

Happy Friday crafty friends! Today Ruth is hosting our brand new Daring Cardmakers Challenge and we are being dared to make a card on the theme of bottles! Ruth asks us to make anything to do with a bottle, or maybe even10 green bottles! Well I didn’t manage 10 but I did use 2 green bottles to make a 21st birthday card.

It’s a pretty simple card design using some die cuts and an embossing folder and nuvo drops. Here is the finished product.

Cheers to Friday!

Friday the 13th – I dare you!

Happy Friday the 13th and in honour of it our new Daring Cardmakers Challenge is all about superstitions!

I’m not particularly superstitious although I don’t walk under ladders unless totally necessary and I have been know to greet single magpies….. ok maybe I’m a little superstitious! A couple of years ago when weeding in my garden I found 2 four leaf clovers! My hubby and I decided we must be in line for a lottery win so we drove to the shop to buy a ticket straight away….. can you guess what happened? Yup we did not win but I still have one of those four leaf clovers just in case there is a little but of good luck still in there!

So inspired by my lucky clover I decided to focus on good luck symbols for my card, the clovers plus of course a black cat (I am a self confessed crazy cat lady!!) and a lucky horse shoe.

I hope you have a fabulous Friday with only good luck! Crafty hugs

Aud Sentiments #281 – Anything Goes

Hi crafty friends, how are you all doing today? I hope you are having a great week. It’s time for a new Aud Sentiments Challenge and this time anything goes (as long as you include a sentiment of course!).

I used two Tracey Hey stamp sets (Weirdo and Having it All) for this card. I also used an inky background from my stash (made with Catherine Pooler reinkers and water). I added a little stripey strip made with a black sharpy pen.

I hope you like my little weirdo card and snarky sentiment, it made me giggle!

August Elemental Challenge – I dare you!

Hi crafty friends, I hope you’ve had a great week. I can’t believe it’s August already, where did July disappear to? It’s time for us to share our new elemental challenge over at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge and this time Shabneez has given us a gorgeous minty selection of pictures to inspire our cards. If you haven’t joined in before all you need to do is take three elements from these pictures (colour can only be one of them) and use them to inspire your creation.

I used a type writer die from a recent issue of Die Cutting Essentials magazine as well as a couple of stamp sets, Dotty definitions from Tracey Hey and Random Act of Cardness from Technique Tuesday.

I took the circles, the type writer and the mint green elements to inspire this card.

My mint green typewriter is a little brighter than I was hoping for but somehow in all my many inks this was the closest I could get! I hope you like it and that you will come and join in!
