SAL Sunday 2020 – 7

Hi crafty people!  How are you all doing?  It’s a gorgeous sunny weekend here in Scotland and we have started our phase 1 out of lockdown!  It’s a very gradual process which personally I find reassuring as I do worry that the numbers will spike again if things go back too quickly.  However it’s lovely to have little freedoms, my husband had a socially distanced game of golf yesterday and I met a friend and her kids for a socially distanced walk!  Simple things that used to be taken for granted but it was so good to enjoy them again.  Anyway…. that’s not what I’m here for today!  It’s been three weeks since my last SAL (stitch along) post so it’s time for an update.  I had started a new project which many of you correctly guessed was sunflowers!

This is where I was 3 weeks ago…

Three weeks later I have made some progress….

Aud Sentiments #252

Hi crafty people!  How are you today?  I’m back to tell you about the new Aud Sentiments Challenge which kicks off today.  The theme this time is flowers and, of course a sentiment!

Blog badge (1)

Our lovely sponsor this time is Fred She Said,  they have such a great range of digi stamps, patterned papers and cutting files.

I was lucky to be gifted Daisies and Ladybugs to work with.  It’s a really beautiful set of images and I made a tag as well as my card for the challenge blog.

For the card I coloured the long strip of daisies with coloured pencils and added some shading under the flowers and leaves.  I cut the panel and added some coloured mats.  Then I coloured and fussy cut a couple of the ladybirds.  I added them with 3d pads before stamping the sentiment (I believe it’s from Tonic Studios)

I used the single daisy version for the tag.

I hope you will share your floral projects over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge, you have until the 8th of June to enter.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I hope to see you again soon!

Daring Cardmakers – Family

Hi crafty people! How are you all today? The sun seems to have left us again in Scotland, however that might not be a bad thing as I saw pictures of local beaches packed with people yesterday, social distancing seemed totally forgotten! It’s frustrating as someone who has been following the rules and worrying that these gatherings are going to knock back any progress. I just keep trying to remember that there is no point putting any energy into other’s behaviour, it’s out of my control, I can only play my part. Our government plan for easing out of lockdown is released today and I’m looking forward to hearing about that, although I think it is going to be gradual and won’t start until the end of the month.

Anyway… back to crafting! I thought I would squeeze in an entry for the https://daringcardmakers.blogspot.com/2020/05/keep-it-in-family.html before it ends tomorrow. The theme is “family” so I pulled out a card I had started weeks ago but never shared finished off to share. I used the Marianne Designs baby cutting dies and the Altenew Bundle of Joy stamp set.

They are such cute wee faces and i love the curl of hair! I hope they bring a smile to your face today too!

Stop Trying to Make Everyone Happy…

Happy hump day!  It’s a beautiful sunny day in Scotland and I’m sat in the garden peering at my laptop under the sunshade as I write this blog post!  You can’t waste any sunny days here, you never know when they will happen again.

I’m here with an entry for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #160 which has the theme Y is for yellow.  I took the opportunity to use my new die set which came with the new issue of Die Cutting Essentials magazine.  It has a cocktail glass and accessories and is a fab set.  I was so happy to see it when we were out doing our weekly shop at the weekend.  I’ve already made a bunch of cards using the set but here is my entry for this challenge.

I printed the sentiment and added some patterned papers and embossed card to complete the card, I hope it makes you smile!

If you are interested in seeing some more of the cards I made using this die set I’ve uploaded a video sharing some of them, you can watch it by clicking here:

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the internet, if you have enjoyed my blog post please consider subscribing or leaving me a like or a comment, it would make my day!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #251

DT badge

Hi crafty people, I hope you are all doing well!  I’m back today to let you know that we have a new challenge up today at the Aud Sentiments blog and you should definitely join in because there is a prize and it’s an anything goes theme!  Our lovely sponsor is Di’s Digital Stamps and they are very kindly giving our winner a $6 voucher to download some goodies!

weebly-earl-gray-header-edited-1_1_orig

I used the Sally Sundae digi stamp from the lovely JMC Designs Art.  I used watercolour pencils to colour Sally in before fussy cutting her out.  I have been having a wee clear out in my craft room during the lock down and found an inky rainbow I had made using distress oxides so I trimmed it down to fit the card and added some black down either side.

I downloaded the Sweet and Savoury collection which not only includes Sally and 3 of her foodie friends but also some accessories and sentiments.  I used one of the sentiments from this collection.

I hope that you like my card and that you will consider joining in for our challenge this time around, it’s especially easy as it’s an “anything goes” theme currently and you could win a voucher to download yourself a few digi stamps!

Thank you so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!

M is for Magic!

Happy hump day crafty people!  How are you all doing?  It’s a chilly but sunny day here in Scotland and it was lovely and clear when we did our routine morning walk.  Yesterday I decided a needed a few days off from the news (after the shambles of news over recent days) and it’s made a big difference to how I feel.  I’ve decided I will re-open the Ginger Ninja Craft shop on Etsy for UK orders tomorrow.  I should be able to post most of them without going into the post office and hopefully I can build up some business again!

As well as getting organised for that I made a card today for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge which has the theme of Magic for the letter M!  I decided to treat myself to a new Stella image from Bugaboo Stamps as they always make me smile!  I’ve used Make it Snappy Stella Witch.

20200513_141919

I coloured the image with alcohol pens and used them to colour the sentiment panel too.  Then I added some matting and layering with patterned papers, and coloured cardstock before adding a few nuvo glitter drops to finish it off.

Many thanks for visiting my blog today, I hope to see you again soon!

SAL Sunday 2020 – 6

Hi crafty people!  It’s time for a SAL (stitch-a-long) update and it’s been another three weeks in lockdown so I’ve been very grateful for crafty hobbies to keep me busy!  This is where I left off three weeks ago……

20200418_182840.jpg

And now…..

20200510_075712.jpg

I am really pleased with it although it is a bit creased but that will (eventually!) get sorted.  I picked this project because it reminded me of my lovely old boy, Dudley who passed away several years ago.

Now it’s confession time!  The aim of the SAL is to finish off UFO (Unfinished Objects) in our stitching stash but I was feeling a bit fed up being in lockdown so I did a little online shopping and bought myself a new project for the SAL.  It’s unusual for me as it is stitched with wool rather than embroidery threads (I must admit I didn’t realise that until it came!!)  This is how far I’ve got so far…..

Can you guess what it is?

This SAL is organised by the lovely Avis. and she does a great job of keeping us on track, so a big thanks to you!  We are welcoming back the lovely Helen after a short break, it’s great to have you back in the gang!

I’m looking forward to catching up with all the other blogs in this SAL group.  Please give them a visit too, I’ve linked them here so you can easily find them.

Rainbow Thank You Card

Hi crafty people!  How are you doing today?  I’m here to share a card inspired by the current Fusion Card Challenge.

Fusion 200430 Thank You-001

I decided to use the sketch and the photo and created this rainbow card….

20200507_144456.jpg

I created the rainbow by cutting strips measuring 0.5 cm wide and adding them to a card front.  I added a circle of white card, matted on a scalloped circle in gold glitter card stock and a sentiment cut from black and gold glitter card.

Thanks for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!

Smash that paper pad 2020

Smash that paper pad – 4

Hi crafty people! I hope you are all well and finding plenty to keep busy in these worrying times.  We remain on lock down here in Scotland but there are discussions about some gradual changes once our numbers get low enough to show we are making progress.  We are coping with daily life and I think the cats are absolutely loving having my husband and I at home so much!

I’m sharing a project I made today as part of my Smash that paper pad project (check out this post ) for info.  This time I made a mini album which was inspired by this blog post.  I used the basic template to make this little project and used the paper pad for various embellishments and decorations.  Here is the front when it is all folded up.

20200506_123747

Then when it’s opened up……

20200506_123803

and once the bottom flap is opened too….

20200506_123812

Another little pocket added with a tag inside…..

20200506_124037

I added a belly band and an altered paper clip….

20200506_135605

And a selection of the elements inside the pockets….

I have uploaded a video on the Jenny Ginger Ninja Crafts Youtube channel.  I’m very new to making videos so I would love it if you had a look and let me know what you think!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I am so grateful to everyone who takes the time to read and leave a like and a comment.  Take care and keep crafting.
