Happy hump day everyone! I hope you are all having a great day. Today I’m sharing two cards inspired by the sketch from the September 2018 issue of Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine (see page 86 for the sketch and three different card ideas).
The first card I made using the autumnal stamps from a recent issue of Creative Stamping magazine. I used the acorn stamp and three colours of memento inks to create the panels. Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a dark brown circle. I stamped the squirrel in brown archive ink and used a mixture of distress oxide inks and memento inks to watercolour the squirrel before fussy cutting it out and layering onto a larger dark brown circle. I finished off with some orange enamel dots. I know it’s technically still summer but it feels like autumn is on it’s way here in Scotland. The weather is cooler and it’s been really windy and wet, although to be fair that description could be used across all four seasons here!!
The second card I used one of the patterned paper downloads and the peacock feather stamps from the magazine gift too. I added some purple, navy and gold cardstock and some purple gems for a bit of bling!
I really enjoyed playing with the sketch and love how different the cards turned out from one layout. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you like the cards.
