Happy Friday crafty friends! How has your week been? It’s feeling very autumnal here in Scotland and we’ve put the heating on as it has been much colder. I don’t mind though, I like this time of year and as a bit of a hermit I enjoy a cosy evening at home with the candles lit and some stitching in front of the telly, it’s a wild life I lead! Anyway all of that is leading to the new Daring Cardmakers Challenge which Shabneez has set for us this week. Our theme is Awesome Autumn and Shabneez said “I love autumn and all the colours and textures associated with it so I’d love to see your creations to celebrate my favourite season with me!”.
I had a leafy wreath cutting die which I think I found on ebay, I’ve no idea who made it but this felt like the perfect excuse to use it. I cut it from plain white card and then tried smooshing some distress oxides onto it to get some autumnal colours. I wasn’t happy with the depth of colour though so instead I pulled out some Catherine Pooler inks and pressed the die cut card directly onto the ink pads.

I heat embossed my sentiment straight onto the card base with this copper embossing powder and then arranged the wreath with some die cut acorns from a Tim Holtz set. The finishing touch (as usual for me!) was a few nuvo drops in antique rose and ripened pumpkin.

I think my acorns are a bit out of proportion but I quite like the jumbo size of them, the squirrels would be super excited to gather these I think!
I hope you will hop on over to the Daring Cardmakers Blog to see the gorgeous cards made by my lovely design team chums and that you will share your autumnal make too. Thanks so much for visiting the blog.
