Opposites ATCs

Hey crafty people, I thought today I would share some ATCs that I made for a swap last month as my partner has received them now!  This swap was through a facebook group of lovely people and the theme was to make 5 double sided ATCs that had opposites on each side.  So here’s what I came up with….

The “sweet” side background was created with distress inks and heat embossed sweety stamps.  I used pixie powders to create the background for the “sour” side and I added glossy accents to the lemons.

The hot background is a napkin which stuck to the card with modge podge and again I used pixie powders on the “cold” background (I’m addicted to those powders!)

I used a stencil for the “light” background with some spiced marmalade distress oxide ink.  The “dark” side was so easy peasy but I love all those googly eyes staring out!

This was a bit of a cheat really, just die cuts and patterned paper but I quite liked the effect.

More distress oxides for these backgrounds and a some ranger silver spray for the stars.

What do you think?  Do you do any crafty swaps?  I love seeing how people interpret the themes differently and use techniques that I haven’t tried or thought of.  I’d love to hear what you think in the comments.

  1. I have never made an ATC. To be honest all I know is they are small and they are not cards, but what they are for I have no idea lol. I have seen a lot of them about recently and there are some really pretty ones and I like these opposites but can you explain them please and what they are for.

    1. Hehe, no worries. ATCs are Artist Trading Cards, they are small projects to swap or gift to other crafters or artists. They measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches and you can decorate the front in any way and usually you write your name, and info on the back with the date (not in these ones as they were double sided!). Hope that helps, I’m a novice really with them! Thanks so much for your comment.
