Hi crafty people!  The Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog has a new challenge launching today and the theme is a Love or Valentine sentiment.

Challenge #244 is sponsored by Digi Doodle Studios who have some fabulous digi stamps.

The design team were kindly gifted an image to use and I was very lucky to be given the  Close to My Heart digi stamp which is super cute!  I coloured her in with alcohol pens and added some detail/shading with my polychromos pencils.

Here’s my finished card…

I hope you are all having a fab week and that you will join us in the challenge over at the Aud Sentiments blog.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day crafty people, hope you have a great day.  I had to wait until today to post this (after my hubby opened it!).  It was inspired by the The Male Room Challenge .

I wanted to make a card using muted colours and different textures.  I pulled out some patterned papers and die cut some hearts to see what combination I wanted to use.  Then I cut some mats to layer and used a wood effect embossing folder from Tim Holtz to add some texture.  The LOVE is a stamp from a few years ago, I think from Hobbycraft.  I embossed it with white on navy and the fussy cut the letters separately before sticking onto the card front.

The hubby liked it and I hope you do to!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Be my valentine!

Hi crafty people!  Hope you are having a good Saturday.  We had the six monthly check up visits for all three cats this morning so it was all hands on deck to get them rounded up and in their carriers.  It’s only about 10 minutes in the car but that feels like a very long time when one is moaning consistently and another complains loudly at every roundabout!  We are all home again now, they are all vaccinated and in good health, just need to plan for a bit of dental work for two of them in the next couple of months. Now we can chill out and enjoy some rugby on the TV this afternoon and hopefully a bit of cross stitching too.

Today I’m sharing a card I made to fit in with a couple of challenges, the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge and the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge

I started by cutting out a selection of hearts from red and pink card and patterned papers using various punches and cutting dies.  I then arranged them on the card blank and when I was pleased with how they looked I stuck them down.  I added some nuvo drops in red and cream around the hearts and the sentiment (from Clearly Besotted) embossed in white.

I hope you like my card and as always thanks so much for visiting the blog!

Bokeh heart

Hello crafty people!  How are you doing today?  I’m back with another card I made using the bokeh background from yesterday.  I’d like to enter this card into a couple of challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Heart

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge – Pink & White

I used the Tonic Studios die to cut a heart from the bokeh background paper as well as a couple of mini hearts I had left over from yesterday’s card too.  I layered a white square of embossed card stock on a pink square and then arranged the hearts in the frame.  I used a stamp from Crafter’s Companion to add a simple sentiment.  I mounted the sentiment on the same pink card and raised it with some 3d pads to add some dimension.

I hope that you like my sweet and simple Valentine’s day card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.

Bokeh background for Valentine

Happy Monday crafty people! How was your weekend?  I hope you had a good one.  Today I’m back with my entry for the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge which has this sketch….

As it is very nearly February I thought I had to go with a Valentine theme card and I also wanted to use the bokeh technique for this card as I’m still enjoying making these pretty patterns!  For this card I used these three inks plus the Tsukineko white Brilliance Ink Pad.

I pulled out some super cute heart dies from Tonic Studios which I believe I got last year.   The stamp came with the dies and fits perfectly.

I added a few smaller hearts from the same stamp set to finish off the card and here it is!

Thanks so much for popping over to the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope you will come back again soon.  Crafty hugs
