SAL Sunday 2020 – 3

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post and I’ve managed to squeeze in a bit of stitching since the last post 3 weeks ago.   I was here last time….

…. and I’ve got to this stage now….

I’m making pretty good progress and I’m very thankful for my new glasses as I don’t think I would have managed the subtle shades of grey without them!

This SAL is organised by the lovely Avis.  The idea is to finish off a UFO (or Unfinished Object!) and let me tell you I have lots of those!  If you fancy joining in then contact Avis and she will give you all the information you need.

I’m looking forward to catching up with all the other blogs in this SAL group, please give them a visit too, I’ve linked them here so you can easily find them.  We’ve got Linda rejoining us and two new members of the gang, so a big welcome to Laura and Cathie.

SAL Sunday 2020 – 2

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post and I’m delighted to say I did a little stitching!  I was here last time….

I’ve made a little progress and definitely feeling  my stitching mojo is coming back!

20200216_091331.jpg

I’m really enjoying this project, although it’s very grey I think it’s a beautiful picture and it reminds me so much of my cat Dudley who is greatly missed, I’ll need to swap the eyes to green as they are yellow in the kit.

SAL Sunday 2020 – 1

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post.  I think I’ve missed a couple of these and I’ve not really been feeling like picking up my cross stitch.  I decided to pick up a different project to see if that sparked some stitching enthusiasm.  I’ve had this project for a few years.

20200126_093732

This is the starting point for 2020, I’ll be back in three weeks and hopefully I will have some progress to share!

It’s been a hectic few weeks and I’ve hardly posted to my blog.  I’ve been busy making orders for my Etsy shop and building up stock for some Christmas craft fairs.  I had my first one last weekend and it was a fab day with lots of people visiting us.  Here I am in all ready for the shoppers to arrive.

Three weeks ago I was working on this mystery square….

20191101_105928.jpg

There were various guesses for the flower in this square and a Avis and Sunny got it right…..

20191124_092846.jpg

Well done ladies!  I’m not sure that it looks that much like blue bells but it’s quite pretty!  I also managed to complete this square since the last SAL post….

20191124_092916.jpg

I also made a start on this one….

20191124_092950.jpg

So in the tradition of my SAL posts any guesses on what the flower is (remember I’m not working in alphabetical order, I just pick based on my preference!).  I hope that in three weeks time I will have this one finished off so I can reveal the completed square and see if anyone guessed right!

SAL Sunday 14

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post.  I was away on holiday for the last one so it’s been 6 weeks since I shared an update.  This SAL is organised by the lovely Avis.  The idea is to finish off a UFO (or Unfinished Object!) and let me tell you I have lots of those!  If you fancy joining in then contact Avis and she will give you all the information you need.

Three weeks ago I was working on my sweet pea square from my floral alphabet.  I haven’t been doing these in any order, just hopping around depending on my mood to pick the next one.

So last time I checked in I was here, (close to finishing):

20191013_191838.jpg

This time I have finished off the sweet peas….

20191101_105917.jpg

…and made a start on the next square….. anyone like to make a guess which flower I’m currently stitching?

It’s time for another stitch along posts or SAL and I have to admit I haven’t done any stitching in the last 3 weeks!  Sorry to not have an update but I thought I would pop in to say let you know the answer to the question I left you with last time re what flower this square represents…..

20190811_115912.jpg

SAL Sunday 10

Happy Sunday crafty people!  I hope you are having a fab weekend.  We managed to get our patio finished off yesterday, the last of the big garden jobs for 2019!  Now we can just enjoy the space and focus on the fun gardening jobs.  Anyway, that’s not why I’m here today, it’s time for another SAL post!  In case you haven’t seen one of my SAL posts before I should explain.  SAL stands for Stitch Along and this one is organised by the lovely Avis.  The idea is to finish off a UFO (or Unfinished Object!) and let me tell you I have lots of those!  If you fancy joining in then contact Avis and she will give you all the information you need.

So three weeks ago I was picking up this ….

20190630_132530.jpg

Three weeks later I have finished off the oriental poppy….

20190721_083844.jpg

and almost finished off the crocus (just waiting for one thread to arrive so I can complete it!)

20190721_083858.jpg

and I made a small start on the daffodil….

20190721_083915.jpg

These are such a nice size to work on.  Now the patio is finished I’m hoping I can sit outside and work on these over the next 3 weeks!  Fingers crossed the Scottish weather allows!

SAL Sunday – 9 – happy dance!

Happy Sunday crafty people!  It’s been another very speedy three weeks and here we are again with a SAL Sunday post.  It’s been a busy three weeks including a trip to the Download music festival (or brownload as it turned out as it was pretty wet and very muddy!). I’ve not spent very long stitching but I have got some progress to share!

Three weeks ago my tigers were looking like this….

20190609_121447.jpg

…. Today they are all done and I’m doing a happy dance!

20190630_132351.jpg

Now since joining this SAL I have made a good dent in my pile of projects that I had started.  The one I’ve chosen for my next project is very old and is a bit more of an undertaking!  The project is from the Cross Stitcher magazine in 1996!  The project was included in several issues of the magazine and I was annoyed to be missing one of them.  I thought this meant that I would never get it finished but amazingly I found the missing issue on ebay for a couple of pounds and I am all systems go now!  I hope to get it finished off in 2019 and then it’s only taken me 23 years!!!

So I should let you know what it is!  It’s a floral alphabet designed by Sheila Hudson and I have 6 of the letters completed….

20190630_132512.jpg

I’ve got three letters partially done so this time I’m going to focus on the Oriental Poppy which is currently looking like this….

20190630_132530.jpg

I think I should be able to get it finished off and maybe more!  I’ve no idea what I will do with the finished alphabet but it’s so pretty that I will enjoy the stitching and I hope that by the time I have finished the 26 letters I will have a plan for a finished item.  Please let me know if you have any thoughts!
