Aud Sentiments Challenge #250

Hi crafty people!  I’m back today to share with you the new challenge at Aud Sentiments and the focus for this one is to make a masculine themed card with a sentiment!

This time we are sponsored by Doctor Digi House of Stamps, an absolute favourite of mine.

I was delighted to be gifted the fabulous Captain Thunderpants !  I coloured him in using watercolour pencils and a gold gel pen before fussy cutting him out.

I also used the Blam Backing Papers   and the Comic Sentiments Sheet also from Dr Digi.  I coloured one of the Happy Birthday sentiments and layered it up on blue, yellow and red card.  Then I added a stamped sentiment from Clearly Besotted’s Happy Birthday LOL stamp set.  I heat embossed it in gold before adding to the card front.  I added the Happy Birthday and Captain Thunderpants by using 3d pads to add some dimension.

DIY Thanks

Happy Monday crafty people!  Today I’m sharing my entry for the The Male Room Challenge  number 107 – DIY.

I used some tool dies from Marianne Designs and cut the hammer, screwdriver and saw.  The patterned papers came from a couple of Craft Sensations pads which are fab quality at a bargain price!  I layered up some different patterns and added a couple of enamel dots.  The tools are on a panel with some twine peeking out and it’s raised up with 3d pads.  The card is finished off with a simple “Thanks” sentiment.

I would also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything goes)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

Slightly cheaty challenge post!

Happy hump day crafty people! I hope you are all having a lovely week.  Today I’ve got another musical themed card which I’m entering into a couple of challenges

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (use black and white and one colour)

The Male Room Challenge (anything goes – optional twist – no designer papers)

The black and white theme brought to mind a piano and I am loving this mirror card in green at the moment so I opted to use this as the additional colour (there is a tiny bit of grey but that’s like if black and white had a baby so I’m sneaking that in!) I might be slightly cheating including the printout of sheet music in place of designer papers but hey ho it’s an optional twist!!

I hope you like my slightly cheaty challenge card today!  Thanks so much for stopping by the blog.  I love seeing your comments, it always makes me smile 🙂

Musical birthday wishes

Happy weekend crafty people!  What are you up to?  I’m having a lovely chilled out Saturday, reading my book (The Rabbit Back Literature Society by Pasi Ilmari Jaaskelainen – loving it so far!) and catching up on some crafty blogs until my husband gets home from his golf game.  I’m here to share a card I made for a birthday boy celebrating today and I’d like to enter it in the My Time To Craft Challenge .  The current theme is “men only”, I think 9 years old can count as a young man for this occasion!

The birthday boy has started learning to play guitar so it seemed the perfect excuse to pull out the Tonic Studios guitar die.  I kept it pretty simple with the guitar and the sentiment but I thought it looked a little plain so I added the three stars in the complementing colours.

I hope you like my card and that you are having a fantastic Saturday.  Thanks so much for visiting the blog and I hope to see you again soon.

The Male Room Challenge #90

Hi there crafty people, happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fab weekend.  Today I’m sharing my card for the current Male Room Challenge ( ) which is to include an unexpected item.

I struggled at first to think of what I could include and then got some inspiration from my favourite drink…. diet pepsi!  So I cut into a can and washed it out before die cutting a square and then embossing it.  I have to admit it was very sharp but once I had die cut the square it was much easier to handle and I really like the embossed effect.  I used some of the super sticky red tape to fix it to the card and mat and layered it with some blue and black cardstock.

I used dies from two sets to make the embellishments for the card, the sentiment (My Hero) from the Xcut Mr Mister text set and the tools from Marianne Design Creatables.

I used paper piecing with the tools and sentiment and arranged them onto the card, using foam pads to raise up the sentiment.

I hope that you like my finished card, I’m looking forward to seeing all the other unusual items used in the challenge!
