Day 6 of the Cat Lovers Hop

Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  It’s the last day of the Cat Lovers Hop today and I’m sad to see it finish but I’ve really enjoyed hopping around the different blogs and seeing such a great variety of cat themed crafts.

2019 CLH Badge1

My last project is a Christmas card using the beautiful cat die set from Marianne Designs and also the collectables outfit die set for the hat and scarf.  I used grey cards to make a silver tabby and then dressed him in a cosy red scarf and hat.  I thought the scarf looked a bit plain so I used a white gel pen to add some spots.

I added some starry paper with some red and navy card and used a festive sentiment from the Hobby Art stamp set Santa Paws.

Thanks so much for everyone who has visited the blog and left a comment, especially my fellow hoppers!

Day 3 of the Cat Lovers Hop 2019

Happy hump day everyone!  How are you today?  I’m back with my third post for the Cat Lovers Hop organised by the lovely Janis at Her Peaceful Garden.

2019 CLH Badge1

So far this week I’ve shared projects inspired by Pepper and Mr Darcy and our third cat Pepper is feeling a little left out!  So today I’d like to put him firmly in the spotlight!

Spats is our gorgeous tuxedo cat and he often hangs out with my in my craft room, sometimes sitting on my big shot cutting plates!  He is an independent soul, who doesn’t like cats but enjoys exploring in the garden and eating everything he possible can!  For my project today I used the sketch from the CAS sketch#344 and my Marianne Designs cat die set.  The sentiment is from a Stampendous cat phrase set.

I used a strip of starry paper from my scrap pile and cut a scallop edged piece of gray card.  I’m not very good with CAS cards so I added some paw prints over the gray to add some interest!  I hope you like my mini Spats, he is suitably aloof but I think is inwardly pleased to be included!!  Thanks so much for all of the lovely comments from my fellow hoppers this week.  I’m trying to get round to everyone’s blogs and I’m loving seeing all the talented crafters.

DIY Thanks

Happy Monday crafty people!  Today I’m sharing my entry for the The Male Room Challenge  number 107 – DIY.

I used some tool dies from Marianne Designs and cut the hammer, screwdriver and saw.  The patterned papers came from a couple of Craft Sensations pads which are fab quality at a bargain price!  I layered up some different patterns and added a couple of enamel dots.  The tools are on a panel with some twine peeking out and it’s raised up with 3d pads.  The card is finished off with a simple “Thanks” sentiment.

I would also like to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Anything goes)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

St Catrick’s Day

Happy Saturday crafty people!  I hope you are having a fab day.  We are having friends round to watch rugby for Super Saturday.  We will be supporting Scotland and Ireland.  Speaking of Ireland, the Show us your pussy cat challenge has a St Catrick’s day theme so I couldn’t resist!

It will be no surprise that I used the Marianne Design cat die set again (i’m addicted!) but I decided to make him a little top hat and a green bow tie to dress up for the occasion.

I found some very cute St Patrick’s Day papers which are free to download ( HaleGrafx ) and I used two of these along with a green doily.  I printed the sentiment from word and added some green gems to finish off the card off.

I hope you like this wee cutie and that you are having a fab weekend.  Thanks for stopping by and please say hi in the comments.

Pink and girly challenge

Hi crafty people, I hope you are all having a great day.

The current My Time to Craft Challenge prompt is for a pink and girly card!  Well I think this might just count!  I pulled out my Marianne Designs Eline’s Horse and Unicorn die set and a selection of pink card stocks!  I added some spotty paper and embossed a lilac circle with a pretty star embossing folder.  The cloud die is from the rainbow set from Elizabeth Craft Designs rainbow set.  I raised the middle cloud on some 3d pads to give a little dimension.

I hope that you like my pink and girly card, I really enjoyed making it!  Thanks so much for visiting the blog, I appreciate every comment and like so much.

You’re purrfect!

Hi crafty people, how are you all today?  I’m doing well and enjoying another sunny day, it feels like spring is definitely on it’s way!  I am back today with a cat themed card which I am entering for the following challenges:

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Show us your pussycats challenge

I’m a little bit obsessed with this die set from Marianne Design, it’s so cute and so flexible in that you can make up so many different cats to correspond with any feline friends.

I was very lucky to win a facebook giveaway from Rare Earth Stamps recently and I’ve used a couple of stamps from my prize.  The background is from the pocket pets set and the “You’re purrfect” is from furry friends.  These are gorgeous stamps, a very good size and beautiful designs.  The background is so well designed so the edges match up and you can repeat stamp to cover whatever size you would like for your project.

I added MUM cut using a first edition alphabet die set.  If you’ve been here before you probably know that I am a total cat lady so this card was inspired by Spats my gorgeous tuxedo cat so I thought I had better include him!

Thanks so much for visiting Spats and I today and we hope to see you again soon!

Festive felines!

Happy Saturday crafty people!  Hope you are having a fab weekend.  I was delighted to find another new challenge which would help me build up my stash of Christmas cards for this year as well as give me an excuse to use those Marianne Designs cat dies again!

The challenge is the Christmas Kickstart Challenge and the prompt is festive felines!  I thought I would make something to reflect all three of our fluffy boys and I love that the die set allows you to make up so many different combinations of markings.

First I want to introduce you to the inspiration.  First up is Pepper who is in his 90s in cat years and is the furthest travelled, having adopted my husband when he was a kitten (Pepper, not the husband!) in South Africa,  The handsome tuxedo cat is Spats who joined the clan when he was 2 years old and is always hungry.  Last but not least is Mr Darcy AKA the Ginger Ninja (or Ginger Whinger as he is very vocal!)

And here is the card version……

I used the sentiment from the Santa Paws Hobby Art stamp set again and used some patterned paper from my scraps box.  I hope these three cuties brightened your day!

Happy Fri-yay!

Happy Fri-yay crafty people!  I’m back again with an entry for the Fusion Card Challenge (see below for sketch and photo).fusionjan24-001

I decided to use both the sketch and the photo and as I’ve been a little bit obsessed with bokeh backgrounds I started by making one using blues (salty ocean, blueprint sketch and peacock feathers alongside brilliant white).  This time I made a background by blending the blues and then I added circles of the blues as well as the white.  I’m not sure that it’s really obvious from this panel but I liked the effect.  I had the other pattern papers in my scrap box on the shelf so I cut some flags to fit the card.  The penguin is a die from Marianne Design which I love.  The snowflake stamp and sentiment are both from a set from Hunkydory For the Love of Stamps that came with a magazine.  It felt very appropriate making this frosty birthday card during our cold snap!

I would also like to enter this card for the Crafty friends Challenge which has the theme animals/birds at the moment and the Simon Says Challenge Anything Goes which is currently “anything goes!”

I hope that you are keeping cosy and that you like my cute penguin!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I hope to see you again soon.

A is for Anything Christmas Goes

Happy hump day crafty people!  Last year I was a bit disorganised when it came to my Christmas cards so when I heard about the ABC Christmas Challenge challenge I thought it would be a great way to have a stash of cards made throughout the year.  So this is the first of two blog posts for my January cards.

I pulled out a Hobby Art stamp (CS223D – Santa Paws) that I had bought last year and then didn’t use before Christmas and I thought it would go well with the Marianne Designs cat die cutting set (another one which I had in my stash unused).  I was inspired to make a cute Ginger cat like one of our three feline friends.

I think he likes it as he climbed onto the card when I was trying to take some pictures!  I think the caption should read “It’s mine now”!  I even included his wee ginger spot on one of his back feet.

For a better view of the finished card….

I hope you like this cute kitty, I’ll need to make 2 more featuring Spats and Pepper so they don’t feel neglected but that could wait for another day!

I’ll be back later today with my entry for B for berries.

As always thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Craft blog, it means so much to me to see that somone has left a like or a comment.  Have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you again very soon.
