Happy Friday! Did you know October 16th is Dictionary Day? It’s also time for a new weekly challenge at the Daring Cardmakers Challenge. Joanne is setting our challenge this week and she needs very little excuse to celebrate words – celebrate with her by using a dictionary page, a dictionary definition or making words the focal point of your card.
I recently downloaded a printable from Calico Crafts on Etsy and I thought these Halloween Dictionary Definition words are perfect. I used a Haunted House die from Tattered Lace and some papers from the Rose Gold Memories paper pad from Craftbox UK.
I started by making a square card base with some black card. I cut a vertical panel of a book print paper and inked around the edges with some black ink. I then cut a square of a complementary paper and ripped around the edges before inking to get rid of the white edge. The haunted house was cut from black centura pearl and the windows were paper pieced with holographic card. I added a holographic moon and then layered up the definition before adding a few nuvo drops in black to finish the card off.
I would walk swiftly past this house I think!! I hope you will share your dictionary inspired projects with us this week.
Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, it means so much to me.
Happy Monday crafty friends! Did you have a good weekend? I hope you managed to do something nice even with the restrictions that seem to be coming back.
I thought I would share a quick post to show some Halloween paper embellishments I have been making. I have been loving making rosettes recently and I thought I would make a few spooky Halloween themed ones. You can see them all in this video.
Have you been making any Halloween crafts yet? Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon.
Happy Monday! How are you all doing? I hope you had a fab weekend. I was in Glasgow yesterday at the craft fair at the SECC and I picked up a few new crafty items to play with! We also were celebrating the Springboks win and looking forward to the Rugby World Cup final next weekend!
I had such fun playing along with the Cat Lover’s Blog Hop last week so it’s feeling a little strange to be sharing a project that doesn’t have a single cat on it! I was inspired by the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #146 for this project.
I decided to use the Good to be Bad stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I used some pink glitter card and made an inky background for my witch by smooshing distress oxides in abandoned coral and picked raspberry as well as the milled lavender distress ink. I added some little star stamps and the sentiment heat embossed in white.
I used the spectrum noir sparkle pen in crystal clear over the witches outfit to make it a little more bling!
I’d also like to enter this project into the Cardz 4 Gals challenge which is to use something beginning with S. I’m counting the sparkly elements and the stars! I’m also including this card in theLeigh SB Designs 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop (I’m a little late to the game but better late than never!)
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments I have been getting recently. I love chatting with everyone and finding new blogs to follow. I hope to see you again soon.
