Hi crafty people! It’s Thursday and time for a new Aud Sentiments Challenge and for challenge #258 is Anything Goes, as long as you have a sentiment! I couldn’t resist using the Stella Glue Stick digi from Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured her with alcohol markers and fussy cut her out and mounted the accompanying sentiment on a some coloured card.
Happy Monday crafty friends, how was your weekend? I had a chilled weekend which was just what I needed. I caught up with some reading and bits and pieces around the house and spent time in the sunshine in the garden on Saturday. Today it’s been pouring with rain all day and shows no sign of stopping…. perfect crafting weather! I made today’s card inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.
This weekend I did a bit of sorting in my craft room (still lots left to do!) and I found a load of background papers I had made using inks, sprays, paint etc. So I pulled a smooshed inky piece of watercolour paper to use for background. I cut a diagonal slice out of it and trimmed it down to fit a C6 card base. For a focal image I used a digital stamp that I had in my stash, Stella Push My Luck. The sentiment wasn’t going to fit in the panel so I retyped it and printed it out. I coloured Stella in using my Spectrum Noir Triblends and Nuvo alcohol pens. I then fussy cut her and popped her on with 3d pads. To finish the card off I stamped and fussy cut some dumb bells.
Stella’s expression perfectly sums up my feelings about exercise!
I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Hi crafty people, how are you today? I hope you are all keeping safe and well. The Aud Sentiment blog has a new challenge today and this time the theme is Things with Wings (and a sentiment….. of course!)
I was very lucky to be gifted Toby in a Pot to use for this blog. This image is so adorable with the little bunny popping out of the pot! I coloured the scene in with a selection of alcohol pens and used some salty ocean distress oxide to add a little blue to the sky. I cut the scene using a circle die and added a scalloped circle mat in pale blue.
The sentiment comes from a Clearly Besotted stamp set and I added some mini butterflies cut from scraps of glitter card and pixie powder paper. Obviously I had to add some nuvo drops because I am incapable of making a project without these!
I hope you will pop over to the Aud Sentiments Challenge to see all the fab projects made by the design team and we’d love to see all your projects with anything with wings!
Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing well. I’m back with my entry for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers who are on W for Water this time. They have such fun challenges and I love seeing the cards the design team come up with, there is always a couple that make me laugh out loud!
I used a digi stamp and background paper from Doctor Digi. The stamp is Bath Time Deirdery and I coloured it with alcohol pens and then fussy cut it out. I added the image to a some white card layered up with some pale blue card. To finish off the image I used a glitter stickles for all the bubble bath and added some nuvo drops around as if bubbles are floating around the bathroom.
The background bubble paper is the second one in the set from Doctor Digi. I added a sentiment from a Tracey Hey stamp set.
I love the characters that Doctor Digi creates, they always make me smile. I always have a book to read in the bath but I’m sure if I attempted a newspaper it would end in a soggy mess! I hope that you are keeping safe and well. Thank you so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, you have made my day!
Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing well today. I’m here to share the new Aud Sentiments Challenge which starts today and runs until the 6th of July. The theme is Summer and for once Scotland got the memo and the sun is shining! The only rules are that you must include a sentiment in your project.
For my project I used a beautiful digi stamp by Julia McNeill Crafts, Willow which was a freeby through the Kit and Clowder Facebook page a few weeks ago.
I cut a strip off the front of the card base to start with so there is a visible portion of the inside. I coloured Willow with alcohol markers and fussy cut her out. The background is an inked panel with a Tonic Studios background cut into it. I added some Tattered Lace flowers which had been painted with a water brush and some squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink. The side panel is a strip of the same inky panel mounted onto black card and stamped with a vertical sentiment and with a flower to finish it off.
I hope that you like my summery card and that you have some sunshine to enjoy today. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and don’t forget to enter your summer projects over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge before the 6th of July.
Hi crafty people! How are you today? I’m back to tell you about the new Aud Sentiments Challenge which kicks off today. The theme this time is flowers and, of course a sentiment!
Our lovely sponsor this time is Fred She Said, they have such a great range of digi stamps, patterned papers and cutting files.
I was lucky to be gifted Daisies and Ladybugs to work with. It’s a really beautiful set of images and I made a tag as well as my card for the challenge blog.
For the card I coloured the long strip of daisies with coloured pencils and added some shading under the flowers and leaves. I cut the panel and added some coloured mats. Then I coloured and fussy cut a couple of the ladybirds. I added them with 3d pads before stamping the sentiment (I believe it’s from Tonic Studios)
I used the single daisy version for the tag.
I hope you will share your floral projects over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge, you have until the 8th of June to enter. Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I hope to see you again soon!
Hi crafty people! I’m back today to share with you the new challenge at Aud Sentiments and the focus for this one is to make a masculine themed card with a sentiment!
This time we are sponsored by Doctor Digi House of Stamps, an absolute favourite of mine.
I was delighted to be gifted the fabulous Captain Thunderpants ! I coloured him in using watercolour pencils and a gold gel pen before fussy cutting him out.
I also used the Blam Backing Papers and the Comic Sentiments Sheet also from Dr Digi. I coloured one of the Happy Birthday sentiments and layered it up on blue, yellow and red card. Then I added a stamped sentiment from Clearly Besotted’s Happy Birthday LOL stamp set. I heat embossed it in gold before adding to the card front. I added the Happy Birthday and Captain Thunderpants by using 3d pads to add some dimension.
I hope you like my card and that you will join in the challenge with a card for a man or boy. You have until the 11th of May.
Thanks for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope you will say hello in the comments.
Does anyone else find it hard to keep track of the days at the moment? I can’t believe it’s Friday already, but apparently it is! I’ve been spending lots of time in my craft room and it’s been a great way to keep me distracted from all the scary stuff happening in the world. Yesterday I discovered the fab JMC Design’s Crazy Craft Hive Facebook group which is run by Julia McNeill as a fun place to share projects featuring her artwork, stamps and digital images. There are currently three free digi stamps available on there and I was delighted to download them and have a play!
I printed off the house scene, the flying bee and the little bee character in her wellies and coloured them in with alcohol inks before fussy cutting them out. I decided to make a stepper card to add some dimension.
Here is the project I made…..
The front layer has some honey comb vellum as well as the patterned paper I’ve used to cut the B from.
I wanted to make the little bee look like he’s buzzing around so I cut a strip of acetate from some left over packaging and folded it into a mini concertina, then I used double sided tape to stick on the bee to one end and the other to the card. I think it works pretty well!
I hope that wherever you are today, you can find something to bring you a bit of happiness despite all that is happening. Take good care, stay safe and keep crafting!
Jenny (AKA the Ginger Ninja!) xx
PS I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Hi crafty people! I hope you are having a great week. It’s such a hectic time of year that I’ve hardly been on my blog and I’m missing it. I’m hoping to get a bit of time later today with a cuppa to read through some blog posts and see what everyone has been up to.
I’m here to share my contribution to the new Aud Sentiments Challenge which is to create a winter or Christmas themed project with a sentiment.
The sponsor for this challenge is Digi Doodle Studios who have a gorgeous range of digital stamps and they kindly gifted the DT members a stamp to use for the challenge.
I made an easel card with some starry paper and a few gold gems to add a little extra sparkle. I hope you will enter the challenge, it’s open for a little longer because of the holidays season so you have until the 6th of January next year!
Hi crafty people! I hope you are all having a great week? I’m popping in today as we have a new challenge starting today over at the Aud Sentiments Challenge. It’s a great one to enter as anything goes this time!
The challenge is sponsored by Fred She Said who have a beautiful range of digi stamps available. We are very lucky as design team members as we were gifted an image to work with. I chose Christmas Rosey which is a super cute set of images complete with a coloured version, sentiment and images. So without further ado I will share my project….
I printed out the dog image and the sentiment and chose some parcel patterned paper and traditional Christmas colours of cardstock. I coloured in Rosey with alcohol inks and fussy cut her out. before deciding on how I wanted to arrange the card. Once I had played about with the design I put it together and finished off with some gems that I coloured red with an alcohol pens.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I hope you will consider hopping over to the challenge and entering one of your creations. There are some very beautiful projects from my design team colleagues too.
