B is for Buildings

Happy Friday crafty people!  I hope you are having a fab day.  Today I am excited to join the Alphabet Challenge design team for a few months.  I love this challenge and I hope that you will pop over and check out the great projects from the design team as well as share your entry for this challenge – B for Buildings.

I decided it was the perfect excuse to play with my Build-a-house die set from Gemini for Crafter’s Companion.  It’s a great die set with lots of individual components so you can create lots of different looks.

I built up my house on a card panel and then decided to add it to an easel card with the sentiment on a raised panel to prop up the easel.  The sentiment die is from a First Edition die set that I’ve used lots of times.

I love how an easel card looks and I think they really stand out in among other cards.

Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I’d love if you left a comment.  Please let me know if you are joining in with the challenge too.

Cocktail Friday!

Happy Friday crafty people!  I hope you are all set for a fun weekend.  We usually have a cocktail on Friday so this card feels like it’s right on time!   It’s an entry for the Alphabet Challenge which is currently on z for zesty colours.

I started by making an inky background and adding some splashes of water to leave some white spots.  I cut the border and added borders in other zesty colours.  The cocktail stamp is called Cocktail Time and it’s made by Crafter’s Companion.  I stamped it with archival ink and coloured it with watercolour pencils.

I finished it off with a sentiment stamp to say Well Done because what’s better than a cocktail to celebrate an achievement!

If you are celebrating Friday with a cocktail then cheers to you!  Thanks for taking time to visit the blog, it makes my day 🙂

Gin o’clock! (or is dry January over yet?!)

Hi crafty people, I hope you are doing really well.  It’s been another cold day here with a clear blue sky and a beautiful view of the snowy hills from my desk.

Today I am sharing a card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge which has this sketch to inspire creations…

I really love the diagonal stripes and I dug out my box of washi tapes to see if anything jumped out as inspiration.  I really loved the spotty circles (the top stripe on my card) and it made me think of limes and then I remembered that this stamp had just arrived this week and I knew what I was going to do!

I had the green gingham and glitter paper near at hand from another make and I thought they matched in perfectly.  The lemon and lime came from a die-namics set.

Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog and I hope to see you again soon.

A cocktail for dry January!

Hi crafty people, is anyone else doing a dry January?  I think I must have had it on my mind when I picked up this new stamp in the sales!  It is the Cocktail Time stamp and die set from Crafter’s Companion.

I decided to use it today to make a birthday card for my stash.  I created the bokeh background with some distress inks (twisted citron, cracked pistachio & peacock feathers) and moonlight white brilliance ink from Tsukineko.  I also added a few 3d gems that I alsp picked up in the sales and an ancient stamp that I’ve probably had for 20 plus years!

I was pretty pleased with how it turned out, I hope you like it too!

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge  – Something new

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge  – Something new

I will always be there for you

Hi there, hope you are all having a good Monday.  It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Midlothian.  Today I’m sharing another card I made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge over at .

The sketch for this week (challenge FMS338) is:

I used a flower stamp from a set of Crafter’s Companion stamps which came with issue 18 of Crafter’s Inspiration magazine.  I stamped and embossed the flower with white on craft cardstock and coloured it using watercolour pencils.  Then I mat and layered the three flowers on yellow and green card.  The sentiment is from the Adorable Elephants set from MFT.

I love the stamp and really enjoy stamping and colouring on craft card for a different effect.  I hope that you enjoy the card.
