H for Hang it up

Hi crafty people, how are you doing?  I’m back today with a card for this month’s ABC Christmas Challenge for the prompt H for “hang it up”.  It took me a while to think what I would make but then I remembered that I had some Tonic Studios dies which could be used to make a hanging decoration (although I’ve only used them to make card toppers so far).  I decided to make the best of both worlds with a hanging decoration in a card!

I cut the star outline from pink mirror card twice and then used the detail die to cut out the design from the star.  It took me a little bit to work out that I needed to cut the detail from the “inside” of the one of the stars so I could match them up.   I then cut some vellum to sandwich in between the two stars and added some sparkly ribbon to hang it up.

For the card base I used some bright Christmas paper in my stash (Hobbycraft Pa Rom Pa Pom Pom 12 x 12 pad) that matched in with pink mirror card and a 7 inch square card.  I cut a large round window for the decoration to hang inside.  Then I covered the front and the inside with some of the patterned papers and cut a round frame for the window from the pink mirror card.  I added a white circle inside to write a message to the recipient.  I fussy cut a couple of the baubles from the paper and added them on 3d foam pads in two corners of the card.  Inside I added a die cut sentiment.  To add the decoration I folded the ribbon over the top edge of the card and stuck it down with a piece of washi tape so it can be easily removed.

I hope that you like my hang it up project for the challenge and that you are having a fabulous Easter weekend.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I would love it if you left me a message in the comments to let me know what you think or even just to say hi!

G for Glitz

Happy Tuesday crafty people!  Can you believe it’s the last week of March already?  I’m back with the third of my cards for the ABC Christmas Challenge for March which is the letter G and the prompt G for Glitz!  I do love a bit of glitz in my cards so I pulled out my glitter card stash and chose this dark navy.

I used a Tonic Studios die set which included the dove and the Peace sentiment.  I paired the glitter card with a crisp white and layered up the card with some wet glue.

Hopefully you can see the full glitter effect here.  I am also entering the card into the Crafter’s Castle March Challenge – anything goes with optional extra of using glitter.

Thank you so much for stopping by the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope you will pop back soon.

F for Fabric

Hi crafty people, I hope you all have a fab Monday.  This month the ABC Christmas Challenge has three prompts for E F and G.  I posted the E card last week so today I am sharing my entry for F for Fabric.

The fabric I chose to use in lace.  I layered up the lace with some kraft card and checked paper.  Then I cut some mistletoe  (I think it’s a First Edition die) from green card and used nuvo drops to add the berries.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

I hope that you like this simple Christmas Card.  Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope I will see you again soon.

E is for Embellishments

Happy Friday crafty people!  Hope you are having a great day.

I am really enjoying the ABC Christmas Challenge and I have a nice little stash of Christmas cards for 2019 already!  Today I am sharing my card for the E for Embellishments prompts.

I chose to use some gems as the embellishments.  The christmas pudding die is from Tonic Studios.  I paper pieced some pale gold for the icing and green mirror card for the holly leaves and then added some gems for the berries.  The gems were clear and I coloured them red using an alcohol pen.

I added some red glitter card and green mirror card mats and used a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.

I hope you like my little pudding card.  Thanks for visiting the blog.

D for Decorations

Happy hump day crafty people! I’m back today with another entry to the ABC Christmas Challenge , this time for D (Decorations).  I used this bauble die from Sweet Dixie and cut it out several times from silver and three different shades of blue.  I paper pieced the blues into the silver outlines and drew on a string to attach the baubles to their branch.

I finished the baubles off with some pale blue gems at the centre of the stars and in the corners.  The sentiment is stamped and then popped up on two different layers of blue and then mounted with 3d pads.

It’s never easy to take photos of mirror card but hopefully you can an idea of how it looks from the two different views.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I’d love it if you left a comment to say hello!

C for Candy

Hi crafty people!  How are you all doing?  Our spring weather continues today, although I understand it’s going to get colder again very soon, so we are just enjoying it while we can.  Today we took the morning off and went to a local park to do the snowdrop spectacular walk and it was stunning.  We even say a couple of roe deer but I wasn’t quick enough to get a photograph.  We treated ourselves to brunch before my husband headed off to the office and I went to drop off orders for customers at the post office.

It was a lovely start to our day.  This chilled out blog post is sharing a card for a couple of challenges (ABC Christmas Challenge and Alphabet Challenge).  I’m trying to get a few Christmas cards made for my 2019 stash every month.  This card used the above challenge prompts for C for Candy and X for xtra bling!

I used the candy canes stamp from the Sweet Christmas set by Clearly Besotted.  I stamped and heat embossed a few of these using the Wow red glitter powder then fussy cut them out.  Then I cut a ring to be the base of my wreath using two nesting circle dies.  I used a holly border die which was gifted  to me (I think it is a spell binders die) and cut several holly sprigs.  Then I added some small red gems for the berries and layered them onto the wreath before adding some candy canes.  I then used some 3d tape to adhere the wreath to a white square and then layered it up on the red and then patterned paper.

To finish it off I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) and stuck in a couple of the left over candy canes.

The sun was so bright it was hard to capture the bling on the card, but I think it’s a little clearer in this picture.

I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday whatever you are up to.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog.

B for Berries

Hello again!  I think this is the first time I’ve posted twice in the one day, I hope you’re not too sick of the sight of me!

I’m back with my second card for the ABC Christmas challenge and this one is B for Berries.  I had been gifted a few wooden stamps by someone clearing out their craft stash last year and I thought I would use this lovely holly one from Heritage Stamps.  I heat embossed it in gold and then painted the leaves and berries with cosmic shimmer pixie powders mixed with a little water.

I then added a few splashes of the red and gave the berries a bit of glossy accents to make them stand out.  Once the ink and glossy accents was dry I mounted it on some gold and red card.

I hope that you like this card and if you do why not like the post or leave a comment.  Thanks so much for visiting the blog.

A is for Anything Christmas Goes

Happy hump day crafty people!  Last year I was a bit disorganised when it came to my Christmas cards so when I heard about the ABC Christmas Challenge challenge I thought it would be a great way to have a stash of cards made throughout the year.  So this is the first of two blog posts for my January cards.

I pulled out a Hobby Art stamp (CS223D – Santa Paws) that I had bought last year and then didn’t use before Christmas and I thought it would go well with the Marianne Designs cat die cutting set (another one which I had in my stash unused).  I was inspired to make a cute Ginger cat like one of our three feline friends.

I think he likes it as he climbed onto the card when I was trying to take some pictures!  I think the caption should read “It’s mine now”!  I even included his wee ginger spot on one of his back feet.

For a better view of the finished card….

I hope you like this cute kitty, I’ll need to make 2 more featuring Spats and Pepper so they don’t feel neglected but that could wait for another day!

I’ll be back later today with my entry for B for berries.

As always thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Craft blog, it means so much to me to see that somone has left a like or a comment.  Have a great Wednesday and I’ll see you again very soon.
