SAL Sunday 2020 – 9

Hi crafty people, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!  We are having a bit of sunshine in Scotland (it’s been a rare occurrence in recent weeks!) but my sunflowers are still growing with no sign of a flower yet.  It’s just as well I have these stitched ones to keep me going!  This is where I was 3 weeks ago…..

SAL Sunday 2020 – 7

Hi crafty people!  How are you all doing?  It’s a gorgeous sunny weekend here in Scotland and we have started our phase 1 out of lockdown!  It’s a very gradual process which personally I find reassuring as I do worry that the numbers will spike again if things go back too quickly.  However it’s lovely to have little freedoms, my husband had a socially distanced game of golf yesterday and I met a friend and her kids for a socially distanced walk!  Simple things that used to be taken for granted but it was so good to enjoy them again.  Anyway…. that’s not what I’m here for today!  It’s been three weeks since my last SAL (stitch along) post so it’s time for an update.  I had started a new project which many of you correctly guessed was sunflowers!

SAL Sunday 2020 – 6

Hi crafty people!  It’s time for a SAL (stitch-a-long) update and it’s been another three weeks in lockdown so I’ve been very grateful for crafty hobbies to keep me busy!  This is where I left off three weeks ago……

 

And now…..

I am really pleased with it although it is a bit creased but that will (eventually!) get sorted.  I picked this project because it reminded me of my lovely old boy, Dudley who passed away several years ago.

Now it’s confession time!  The aim of the SAL is to finish off UFO (Unfinished Objects) in our stitching stash but I was feeling a bit fed up being in lockdown so I did a little online shopping and bought myself a new project for the SAL.  It’s unusual for me as it is stitched with wool rather than embroidery threads (I must admit I didn’t realise that until it came!!)  This is how far I’ve got so far…..

SAL Sunday 2020 – 5

Hi crafty people!  It’s time for a SAL (stitch-a-long) update and I have had quite a bit of time for stitching due to being on lockdown!  Three weeks ago this was my project…..

 

Currently it’s looking like this….

Last time it wasn’t very clear what I was stitching but I hope that it’s now a bit clearer that it’s a cat’s face.  I need to have a look through my threads to find some greens as the eye on the pattern is yellow but I want to make him look more like my late grey cat who had beautiful green eyes.  Maybe that will be done in the next three weeks!

SAL Sunday 2020 – 4

It’s only been three weeks since the last SAL (stitch-a-long) but what a lot has changed, we are currently on lock down and thankfully safe and well.  I thought I would have done a lot of stitching but my mind has been so distracted with all the news and changes in daily life.  However I think we are starting to find our routines again and my concentration is starting to improve.  This is where I was last time….

SAL Sunday 2020 – 3

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post and I’ve managed to squeeze in a bit of stitching since the last post 3 weeks ago.   I was here last time….

…. and I’ve got to this stage now….

I’m making pretty good progress and I’m very thankful for my new glasses as I don’t think I would have managed the subtle shades of grey without them!

SAL Sunday 2020 – 2

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post and I’m delighted to say I did a little stitching!  I was here last time….

 

I’ve made a little progress and definitely feeling  my stitching mojo is coming back!

I’m really enjoying this project, although it’s very grey I think it’s a beautiful picture and it reminds me so much of my cat Dudley who is greatly missed, I’ll need to swap the eyes to green as they are yellow in the kit.

SAL Sunday 2020 – 1

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post.  I think I’ve missed a couple of these and I’ve not really been feeling like picking up my cross stitch.  I decided to pick up a different project to see if that sparked some stitching enthusiasm.  I’ve had this project for a few years.

SAL Sunday 15

Happy Sunday crafty people! It’s been a hectic few weeks and I’ve hardly posted to my blog.  I’ve been busy making orders for my Etsy shop and building up stock for some Christmas craft fairs.  I had my first one last weekend and it was a fab day with lots of people visiting us.  Here I am in all ready for the shoppers to arrive.

Three weeks ago I was working on this mystery square….

 

There were various guesses for the flower in this square and a Avis and Sunny got it right…..

Well done ladies!  I’m not sure that it looks that much like blue bells but it’s quite pretty!  I also managed to complete this square since the last SAL post….

I also made a start on this one….

So in the tradition of my SAL posts any guesses on what the flower is (remember I’m not working in alphabetical order, I just pick based on my preference!).  I hope that in three weeks time I will have this one finished off so I can reveal the completed square and see if anyone guessed right!
