Oh Baby….. I dare you!

Hi crafty people! Well it’s Friday and that can only mean one thing…. a new Daring Cardmakers Challenge! This week Ruth is daring us to make a card for a baby. She says “my challenge falls in between both my boy’s birthdays and they will be 17 and 15 this year (where does time go?!) ¬†Could be a new baby card, or a card for your ‘baby'”

I decided to use the Baby theme die set from First Edition craft which has lots of cute elements. I opted for a gender neutral colour scheme so pulled out the Nuvo glitter drops in Yellow Bird.

Slimline cards seem to be all the rage at the moment so I used some grey and yellow card as well as some polka dots paper to create this card. The sentiment is from the Bundle of Joy set fromAltenew.

Hop on over to the Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog to see some fabulous inspiration from my fellow design team members and share your own cards too.

Thanks for stopping by, I’d love it if you said hello in the comments!

Daring Cardmaker September Elemental Challenge

Happy Friday crafty friends! Hope you’ve had a good week and found some time for craftiness and creativity. As it’s Friday it must be time for another Daring Cardmakers Challenge and as always we start the month with an elemental challenge. Rizwana is our host and she tasks us with using at least 3 elements from the picture on your card.

This picture makes me so happy, I love autumn and can’t wait to see the beautiful colours and get cosy! I chose to use the leaves, the tartan from the scarf and the wood. To start with I stamped and embossed some leaves in copper (Ranger Super Fine Embossing powder) before colouring them with some distress oxide inks (mustard seed, rusty hinge, spiced marmalade and ripe persimmon). The leaf stamps are from the current gift with Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine.

I fussy cut the leaves and then worked on my card base. I took a sentiment from the same stamp set as the leaves and embossed it in white on a circle of wood effect paper. I backed this on copper card and cut a slightly larger circle to leave a narrow edge of copper. Then I cut a larger circle of checked paper (inspired by the checked scarf image) and added some faux stitching in white gel pen. The finishing touch was to add the leaves in all four corners and a couple under the sentiment. Some are glued directly to the card base and others popped up on 3d pads to add a little dimension.

Do you love autumn too? I hope you will come over and join in with our challenge, it’s always great fun to see what people take as inspiration from the images. Thanks again for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog. I hope you will come back soon!

Aud Sentiments #259 – Anything Goes and a sentiment!

Hi crafty friends, hope you are doing well. There’s a new Aud Sentiments Challenge today and anything goes (as long as it includes a sentiment!) so everyone can join in!

This challenge is sponsored by Polkadoodles and they very kindly gifted the design team members an image to use. I was delighted to be given Special Time – Sparkle Unicorn.

I decided to make an easel card, using an inky background, some patterned papers and sentiment stamps from a Woodware unicorn stamp set. I finished off with Nuvo glitter drops.

Thanks for visiting the blog, I hope to see you again soon.

In the Garden…..alot!

Happy Friday crafty friends! I hope you find some time to be creative this weekend, and in case you are looking for inspiration the Daring Cardmakers Challenge is here for you! This week Shabneez has given us the prompt of “In the Garden” as she has been spending lots of time in hers she would like to see something from your garden.

I lived in a flat for many years so when we bought a house with a garden four years ago it was such a treat. As a new build house the garden was a blank canvas but we have slowly worked on it and it is taking shape. One of my pleasures in life has been growing food, in braised beds and our greenhouse. I thought I would share a few of this years crops (some of them still busy growing!). This year during lockdown I’ve been especially grateful for our garden, we’ve definitely spent alot more time than usual!

our new plum tree has only one plum left after the wind!
Aubergines are new to us this year – these are really lovely!
Tatties (potatoes if your not sure!) growing in bags
freshly picked for dinner
the jungle greenhouse has lots of tomatoes but still green
courgettes are growing at last – first plants were eaten by the slugs…. hence the blue slug pellets for this batch!

So I had to go with a veg theme! I used a die set which I bought earlier this year from Ali Express. I know that some of the craft stuff they sell is stolen designs but I’ve never seen anything like this before so I hope it is their own work. It’s so hard to know!

The stamp set is from Hunkydory and I believe it came with a box magazine and a few other gardening theme goodies.

I also used a sheet of hunkydory paper for the background and the basket die was a gift with an Easter issue of a craft magazine. The gloves and fork were also from Hunkydory.

If you have a garden or an outdoor space what do you love to grow most? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts Blog, I hope you will come back soon!

Picture Perfect Cardmaking Dare

Happy Friday crafty friend….. which must mean it’s time for another Daring Cardmakers Blog Challenge! This week the lovely Miri has tasked us with making a card for the theme “Picture Perfect”. You can use a photo, camera, a picture frame, a polaroid layout, an actual photograph or anything picture/photo related on your card.

I chose to use a camera die I had in my stash from Paper Smooches. I cut it in black and added some colour with paper piecing. To make the lense look more realistic I added some detail in white gel pen and gave it a coat of glossy accents. I added a star cut from holographic card and some nuvo drops. The sentiments are from the Clearly Besotted Laugh Out Loud stamp set which is perfect for a cheeky birthday card!

So I hope that you will join us and share your picture perfect cards this week!

I also uploaded a little chatty video this morning on my youtube channel as I recently reached 100 subscribers, have you subscribed and joined the gang yet?!

Many thanks for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again very soon!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #258 – Anything Goes

Hi crafty people! It’s Thursday and time for a new Aud Sentiments Challenge and for challenge #258 is Anything Goes, as long as you have a sentiment! I couldn’t resist using the Stella Glue Stick digi from Bugaboo Stamps. I coloured her with alcohol markers and fussy cut her out and mounted the accompanying sentiment on a some coloured card.

I used the sketch from the current Catch the Bug Stella Says Sketch Challenge for the card.

I stamped a side panel using a lip stamp…

I also inked around the edge of a panel for Stella to sit on.

The finished card with a few sparkly gems in matching shades of blue.

I hope you will share your projects with us in the challenge, remember all you need is a sentiment and apart from that anything goes!

Thanks for visiting the blog, I hope to see you again soon!

Football Crazy!

Happy hump day crafty people! How are you today? It’s another muggy day in Scotland but at least it’s not raining ……. yet! Anything is possible, we really do get four seasons in one day here. I thought I would share a card I made yesterday, I’ve made it in a couple of different colours I liked it so much!

I used the Tonic Studios football die and a woodware football stamp for the background paper. The star embossing folder is very well used one from Tiny Tatty Teddy, Trim Craft and I think the happy birthday is a tattered lace die from a large set.

I’m not a football fan at all but my Dad was a big Aberdeen supporter so the first version is in honour of the Dons!

I also did a green one, not that I have any ties to a green team but I like the colour!

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

The Male Room Challenge #141 – Birthday

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #500 – Happy Birthday

A Bit More Time To Craft Challenge #122 – Anything Goes

Crafting Happiness Challenge #62 – Anything Goes

Crafter’s Castle Challenge #32 – Anything Goes

Crafty Calendar Challenge – August – Anything Goes

Lemon Shortbread Challenge #126 Anything Goes
