Hello crafty friends, how are you all doing? I hope 2022 has started well for you. Ours has been pretty quiet as we try to stay out of the way of Covid! It’s time for our first Daring Cardmakers challenge of the year and the lovely Shabneez has collated some beautiful pictures to inspire our cardmaking this week. She says “I’ve chosen a cool, ethereal and textural mood-board to inspire your crafting at the start of this new year.
Just choose at least 3 elements from the picture to use when you make
your card. As usual if you use the colour combo it counts as1 element “.
I treated myself to a few crafty treats in the sales and by coincidence I had some new sprays in the right colours for this challenge! I bought my first Lindy’s sprays, the Autumn Leaves Collection and I used three of them for this card. I sprayed water on some white card stock then at the bottom I sprayed “Autumn Maple Crimson”, then “Cattail Copper Brown” and then “Red Hot Poker Orange” to give a sort of ombre effect.

Once the panel was dry I cut it to size for my tall card base. I loved the sort of frosty look in the photos too so I pulled out some vellum and added a layer behind my ombre card panel. Then I used some stencils to add a little texture in white and dark brown.

I wanted to include the leafy foliage from the pictures so I stamped some plants along the bottom in Versafine Clair ink.

The final part was to die cut some birds perched on a wire, I layered up a black die cut on a vellum and added that to the card. My finishing touch was to doodle a little around the edge of the card and here is my finished card….

I’m a little obsessed with that shimmer from the starburst sprays, oh goodness I can feel this collection growing in 2022! I hope you will hop on over to see the gorgeous makes from my design team chums, they really are a talented bunch of crafters and share your cards with us too!
Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!
