Black, white and one colour – I dare you!

Happy Friday crafty friends, I hope you have had a great week and you’re ready for a new challenge over at the Daring Cardmaker! This week Miri is our host and she has challenged us to use black, white and one other colour for our card this week!

This one took a bit of thinking for me, I’m not usually so limited in my colours so I decided to go with a CAS card design (also not my usual style!) I recently bought a set of the Tim Holtz wildflower dies from Sizzix and I cut the foliage from this set. I used some photo paper which I had coloured with green brusho powders. I used some scrap card to mask off a strip on my card base and I stamped some script with black ink on this panel. Once I took the masking off I lined the panel with a black sharpie to make it stand out a little more. I tied the foliage die cuts with some black and white bakers twine before sticking this all onto the scripty panel. Finally I added a sentiment. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in white on black card and cut it into a little banner. I also cut a banner from the paper I used for the leaves die cut and layered it up with the sentiment. The finishing touch was a few green nuvo jewel drops.

I tried to make a fresh, clean and simple card, did I manage it?! Thanks so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog, I hope to see you again soon!

  1. It’s absolutely fresh, clean and simple, Jenny! I think your cards looks great. The foliage looks so cool with the different shades of green and the jewel drops.
