Let’s Hear it for the Bees – I Dare You!

Happy Friday crafty friends! How are you doing today? I feel like I just blinked and it’s Friday again, I don’t know where the times has gone….. might be a sign of growing old!

Anyway, it’s Friday again and as ever that means we have a new Daring Cardmakers Challenge and Shabneez is hosting this week with the fab theme – Let’s Hear it for the Bees. Shabneez says  “I would like to celebrate bees this week so would love to see anything related to them on your cards.  You could use beehives, honeycomb shapes, honey coloured ink etc – extra points for using a combination of elements!”

I love bees and this prompt seemed like the perfect excuse to pull out Lady Bea from JMC Designs. I’m lucky enough to be on the Design Team for JMC Designs but this stamp set was bought from one of Julia’s fab Hochanda shows.

I coloured Bea and the Bee flower with coloured pencils and fussy cut them out. The little bee I heat embossed in black on yellow card. Using the Wow embossing pen I embossed the black stripes and some shimmer on the wings.

I created some mats in yellow and black and then used a piece if paper from the Garden Tots collection which I was kindly gifted to use on Design Team projects. The sentiment is from the Lady Bea set and it refers to the fact that bees shouldn’t be able to fly as their bodies are too big for their wings!

I hope Lady Bea and her bumble bee chum brightens your day, have a fab weekend when it comes.

  1. Oh, Jenny! WOW – Bea is so beautiful! (We have a carpenter bee who is enamored of his reflection in our sliding glass door this week – we see or interact with him daily!) Happy Friday!
