Hi crafty people, I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! We are having a bit of sunshine in Scotland (it’s been a rare occurrence in recent weeks!) but my sunflowers are still growing with no sign of a flower yet. It’s just as well I have these stitched ones to keep me going! This is where I was 3 weeks ago…..
Three weeks later and I’ve made some progress…..
This SAL is organised by the lovely Avis. who keeps us all on track (it’s always a surprise to me when the email comes in and I think it cannot be 3 weeks already!!)
I’m looking forward to catching up with all the other blogs in this SAL group. Please give them a visit too, I’ve linked them here so you can easily find them.

Stay safe and be gentle with yourself at this time.

Wow! Your sunflowers are coming along really well. Beautiful! My real ones in the garden are struggling with all the wind and rain we’ve had recently. Then there’s the slugs who seem to think it’s party time grrr!

Aw don’t mention the slugs, I had to replant courgettes this year as the slugs ate them in the greenhouse! The second batch is doing ok but going to be a late harvest! xx

I’m on my 3rd sowing of cucumbers! Slugs and/or snails got the first two batches in the greenhouse so I bought some outdoor cucumber seeds. The rain and wind has battered those. I think they’re dead 😦 The daft thing is, I don’t even like cucumber. I only wanted to grow them because I thought they’d be easy LOL.

We are dealing with very hot and humid weather here on Long Island, NY. It has been this way for more than a week and is supposed to stay this way for the next 10 days. Thank goodness for air-conditioning. You have made some great progress with those pretty sunflowers.

I can’t imagine ever needing air conditioning in my home! When we have the odd hot day we have a small table top fan that we carry about from room to room, but it’s very few days in the year it’s needed! Thanks for your kind comment Cathie xx

Aren’t we stitchers lucky, we can grow our flowers any time of the year in any weather? 😉 Your sunflowers are coming along beautifully.

Beautiful sunflowers! In my garden I constantly throw away snails that want to eat my plants 🙂
