Cardmaking

Stripey Spots!

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a good week? In Scotland we are starting our phase 3 of easing lockdown. We can start to meet people indoors (in very limited numbers) and meet up to 15 people from 5 households outside (which is good timing for us planning a birthday garden party for my Mum’s 80th in a couple of weeks!) We are taking our time and being pretty cautious so fingers crossed the numbers keep low and we can enjoy our new freedoms!

My post today is for the new Daring Cardmakers Challenge, which is hosted by Kathy this time, who has set us the theme of Deckchair Stripes and Sunny Spots. Kathy would like to see lots of spots. stripes or both on your cards this week please.

I decided to use up some papers in my scrap pile (no matter how many times I reach into the pile to “use it up” it never shrinks! Does anyone else have this problem?!) I cut some strips and glued them onto a piece of printer paper.

I trimmed the paper down and gave the glue time to dry before cutting a variety of circles using dies and a small circle punch.

I was inspired by the Cute Card Thursday challenge to not make a square card so I pulled out the tall DL cards to make some stripey spotty cards.

Last but not least I cheated and made some mini square cards for using with customers!

I hope you will join in the fun and share your stripes and spots for this challenge, the design team have made some fab cards for inspiration.

Crafty hugs

  1. Super cute array of cards, Jenny! I agree that the darn scrap pile never diminishes, lol! These striped punched circles would also make adorable outer space cards with inked backgrounds!

  2. Jenny, I love how you did striped spots! What a way to rock this challenge. Good luck with your birthday party, as well. People in Arizona have NOT been following the guidelines, so I’m staying inside as much as possible. It’s crazy how many people here don’t think this virus is that big of a deal.

    1. Thanks Golda, it’s scary times. We’ve been really keeping to the rules and I think enough people are in Scotland to bring our numbers really low. It’s still much higher in England who have relaxed the rules much quicker. It’s scary seeing it run out of control in the states, I think you are right to stay safe at home as much as you can. This illness is not to be messed with. Keep well xx

  3. Hi Jenny, Yes I also have a scrapstash that never shrinks 🙂 It is a seperate hobby of me 😉 All your projects are so creative Jenny, it is a shame that we do not live near to eachother, because I think we could spend hours and hours together 🙂 Bye Jenny, be careful with the lockdown; it stays very tricky! xxx Hugz xxx Deezy

  4. I would be amazed to hear of anyone who uses up their scrap pile! lol Mine is definitely more than a pile, but I cannot part with anything that could conceivably be used on another project. 😉 Lovely projects Jenny and well done for attempting to make a dent in your scraps. Those spots initially made me think of planets and definitely made me smile. 🙂
