Aud Sentiments #238 For a Child

Hi crafty people!  I hope you are all doing well today.  I’m back to let you all know about the new challenge over at the Aud Sentiments Blog.  We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs for this challenge and the design team members were all lucky to be gifted a digi stamp to work with.

I chose Benson Bear – Just for You which is super cute and perfect for the challenge theme of creating a card for a child.  I decided to make an easel card for Benson to feature on.

I coloured him in with alcohol inks and fussy cut him out before arranging the card using some patterned paper, ribbon, embossed cardstock and kraft card.

I hope you will enter the challenge with a card for a child, it’s a fun challenge with the simple rule that you need to include a sentiment!  Thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  I hope to see you again very soon.

SAL Sunday 13

Happy Sunday crafty people! I’m back with another stitch along (SAL) post.  I was away on holiday for the last one so it’s been 6 weeks since I shared an update.  This SAL is organised by the lovely Avis.  The idea is to finish off a UFO (or Unfinished Object!) and let me tell you I have lots of those!  If you fancy joining in then contact Avis and she will give you all the information you need.

So last time I checked in I was here:

I’ve not done very much but I do have a little progress ….

Today we visited Stirling Castle and I thought I would share a few pictures from the tapestry exhibit the work behind the beautiful unicorn tapestries on display in the castle.

I’m looking forward to catching up with all the other blogs in this SAL group, please give them a visit too, I’ve linked them here so you can easily find them.

Autumn Leaves

Hi crafty people! How are you today?  I’ve been super busy with a couple of bulk orders of cards but I thought I would grab a quick break to make a new design for the October Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe challenge.  The grid is as follows and I chose to go for the top row across.

I really wanted to use this Hot Off the Press leaf die which I got before my holiday as a magazine gift.  I cut the detailed outline of the leaf from brown card stock.  The background for the leaf was created with the Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Catherine Wheel.  I scattered some of the powder onto white card and then spritzed it with water and then dried it off with my heat tool because I was impatient!

For the bronze I picked up some different textures of bronze coloured papers, from glitter to embossed and metallic.

I hope that you like my autumnal card, I liked bringing in the different textures from the natural burlap to some glitter card!  Thanks so much for visiting the blog, I always love when you take the time to say hello and leave a comment.  I hope to see you again soon!

Happy World Card Making Day 2019

Happy world card making day!  I hope you find some crafty time to celebrate!  Today I’m sharing a Christmas card I made inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge.  I used the sketch but not the theme for this one.

I bought the recent Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine which came with a cute gift including a cheeky robin and winter foliage dies which I used for this project.

I would also like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut’s Challenge – 457 – Anything Goes

Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge #57

Crafty Creations Challenges #399

Penny’s Paper Craft Challenge #450

Aud Sentiments Challenge 237

Hi crafty people!  It’s been over three weeks since I was sitting here writing a blog post although there have been a few posts scheduled over that time.  We were away in South Africa visiting my husband’s family and we had a great trip.  From seeing the big 5 in the Kruger National Park, to driving through the Karoo region and Outaniqua mountains, swimming in the Indian ocean and enjoying a (few) braai.  Before I get onto my crafty project I thought I would share a handful of pics from our adventures.

Now we are home again which is lovely and autumn arrived before us.  I love October and today’s post is one of the reasons I enjoy this month….. Halloween!  Today is the start of a new challenge at the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog and this month we are sponsored by Oddball Art.  The theme of the challenge is Halloween and/or autumn and the only real rule is to add a sentiment!

I was very lucky to be gifted the 4 Whimsical Witches Hats Image 479 digital stamp and this is what I created….

While we were away on holiday I did a little crafty shopping and I treated myself to a small selection of Polychromos pencils by Faber Castell.  I used these to colour one of the hats.  I think I’m going to enjoy playing with these pencils and using them on different coloured backgrounds and pairing with alcohol pens etc.  Do you have any tips or tricks for using these pencils?

The challenge closes on the 14th of October so there is plenty of time to enter your Halloween or autumn themed projects!  Good luck everyone!

How have you all been?  I need to sit down with a cuppa and respond to some lovely comments and catch up on blogs I’ve missed while we were away.
