Day 1 of the 2019 Cat Lovers Hop!

Happy Monday crafty people! I hope you had a fab weekend.  We were celebrating the Springbok’s win yesterday at the Rugby World Cup and looking forward to the semi finals next weekend!  In the mean time Janis over at Her Peaceful Garden is hosting the fifth Cat Lovers Hop and I’m excited to be joining in for the first time!

As a proud crazy cat lady I just had to join in!  My first project for the week is inspired by our eldest cat, Pepper who is 17 years old but very young at heart!

I used the Furry Friends stamp set from Rare Earth which I was lucky to win a few months ago in a Facebook competition.  There is a lovely selection of cats and sentiments on this set.  I chose this cute cat peeking around the corner as it always reminds me of Pepper.  I stamped him using black ink and then used distress ink in pumice stone and antique linen with a water brush to add colour to his fur.  I used a very watered down broken china for his eyes.  To finish off I used black and white gel pens to add a few details to the eyes and nose.

  10. Wow, your cat Pepper is beautiful! I’m a crazy cat lady too! We have 3 kitties, 15, 15, and 14! Love your adorable card with the peeking kitty! So glad you joined the hop!

  19. Pepper is such a beautiful boy! Your card is a beauty too – just love the shy, peeking cat and you did such a good job colouring him with Distress Inks to replicate Pepper! So happy you joined the Cat Lovers Hop this year! x

  25. Oh, this is such a beautiful card, and of course you had to color that cat to resemble Pepper , because she is just exquisite! Love the sweet pose, peeking around the corner, and your lovely coloring technique

  26. I absolutely LOVE your kitty card! And Pepper is gorgeous! This is my first year participating in the Cat Lovers Hop – we have eight fur babies (Poopie, Molly, Jack, Walter, Tigger, Milo, Dusty and Mocha Latte) that we love to the moon and back! I’m so happy to see you here also and have the chance to visit your blog!

    your card of the cat peeking from behind is so cute and th coloring is awesome. Thanks for explaining it. love your furry cat. I was a doggie person and of late i have fallen in love with cats and we hv a cat family at home and the mama cat is always behind me and stays with me in my room. she is very emotional. Blessings to your family from mine.
