H is for Handbags (Alphabet Challenge)

Happy Friyay! Today there is a new challenge coming up on the Alphabet Challenge and the prompt is H for handbags or hats!  I’m much more of a handbag person than a hat person so I decided to make a card shaped like a bag.

I took a sheet of A4 card in navy blue and cut a strip that is 10.5 cm wide.  I scored it at 4cm, 15cm and 18.5cm.  I took some snake effect patterned paper from a Hunkydory pad and cut some panels to go on the front and inside.  I added some rounded corners to the top flap and cut a bow from the same navy card.  To keep the bag closed I added a velcro dot. I cut a circle to make the handle and glued that onto the bag.

I hope that you will check out all the other fun projects made by the design team and join in yourself.  Thank you so much for visiting the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog.

Hi crafty people!  I’m still all about the fairies for today’s project, this time using a die from Joanna Sheen.

This card is my entry for the Freshly Made Sketched 395  and I loved the simple sketch for this challenge.

I also used some stars in the design so I am using it for the Simon Says Stars and/or stripes.  20190704_145959

I paper pieced the fairy to give her silver glitter wings, a star patterned dress and some brown hair.  Then I inked up a circle and did a bocca technique with a difference as I used a star stencil instead of circles.  The sentiment stamp was in a joanna sheen set and I thought it went really well as it even has a little star dotting the i!

I hope you like today’s fairy and that she grants you a fairy wish or three!

Looking for fairies!

Happy hump day crafty people! How’s your week going?  I’ve been having a productive week in the shop and enjoying spending some time in the garden when the sun is shining with the cats.  When I was walking up to the post office earlier in the week I spotted some impressive mushrooms growing.  I always feel like these kind of mushrooms would make fab fairy houses….. is that just me?!  Haha probably but anyway it got me thinking about making some fairy designs and today’s post is the first of the designs I’ve been working on.

The other inspiration was from the prompt for the current Cupcake Inspiration Challenge where we have been asked to use shades of  yellow.

CIC473 remake

I used the garden fairy stamp set from Woodware and coloured the fairy, the toadstools and the butterfly with alcohol ink before fussy cutting them out.  I used some yellow cardstock from my stash as well as the gingham paper.

I thought she was so cheerful with all that yellow, perfect for a sunny day!

I hope that you have been enjoying some summer weather this week too.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit the blog, I hope to see you again soon.
