Happy hump day crafty people! How’s your week going? I hope all is well and you are finding some creative time in your week. Today I’m sharing a card which I am entering in the Back to Basics challenge. This time the prompt is to use paper piecing in a project.
I had a flip through my stamps and decide to use this cute dragon from a MFT set. Like many crafters I’m sure, I have a lot of corners and scraps of patterned paper so I pulled out a pretty green piece that I could use for the dragon and a spotty piece for a balloon. Once I had stamped the dragon I added some alcohol ink and then fussy cut him out.
The white panel was part of a gift with Die Cutting Essentials magazine. I used a blending tool to add some mustard seed distress ink. I spritzed it with water and blotted it before sticking down the dragon and his balloon. I mounted the panel on some yellow card to compliment the ink. To finish it off I heat embossed the sentiment on dark green card stock (another wee left over scrap!) and added a strip of glitter card.
I hope you like this little sunny card and thanks for popping over to the Ginger Ninja Crafts blog.

This is a great card, Jenny! I love how you paper pieced and wound up with fun looking elements, without having to color, too much.
