Stitch-a-long

SAL Sunday – 2

Hi crafty people, I’m back with my second SAL (stitch along) post organised by Ava and including a lovely group of stitchers. All of their links are at the end of this blog post so you can pop over and give them some love. I also want to say a big welcome to Jocelyn and Carmela who joins us for the first time, it’s great to have you in the group and I can’t wait to see what you are working on.

So 3 weeks ago I was here…..

and I can do a little happy dance because I got it finished! It’s far from perfect (hello crooked whiskers I am talking to you!) but I am pretty pleased with it as it’s a long time since I did any cross stitch! I’ve not decided what to do with it yet so it’s staying as is at the moment!

So I got to pick another UFO to work on. Let me tell you I have a lot to choose from and some are very nearly finished so I picked this one …..

It really didn’t need all that much done and so…. happy dance number 2…..

So I picked out another project which I will be working on in the next three weeks. Here is the starting point.

  1. wow! So pleased to see you were able to have TWO happy dances this time, thanks to the SAL – your Country Companions was just waiting for a little bit of attention, and looks splendid! As does the finished cat!

    1. Hehe, yeah I don’t for the life of me know why I have so many that are nearly finished! I think I must have got distracted by a shiny new project and didn’t get back to finish them off. Ah well I’m working my way through them now! πŸ™‚

  2. Jenny, I think missed your post last month, so welcome to the SAL! Well done, getting that cute kitty finished and a UFO on the side! I’m glad you found our group and it is working its stitching magic on you! Happy dancing with you!

  3. Wow, what a way to jump in and get some projects complete! Both finishes are so cute and you still made lots of progress! Lots of backstitching on that second piece.

  4. Wow, Jenny — TWO happy dances?!?! Well done! Your next one looks close, too — you’ll wear out your dancing shoes if you’re not careful. πŸ™‚ But seriously, all of your projects are so cute, I can’t wait to see what you work on next.

  5. Love the finished cat project. His whiskers are wonky because he’s been out having adventures, I expect πŸ˜‰
A massive well done on finishing two in one update. I love the second one. Is it a Forever Friends? I have one of those half done, and the hedgehog’s spines are a nightmare to do.
Love the ongoing project. Will we see another happy dance next time?

    1. Aw that must be the cause of the wonky whiskers! It’s a country companions design which I’m not sure if they still exist (it is a very very old kit!). I must admit the hedgehog spines are pretty random rather than being a strict following of the pattern! I decided life was too short to try and pick up exactly where I had left off! You never know, I will aim to get my dancing shoes out for the next SAL post! Thanks so much for your kind comment πŸ™‚

      1. Yes, Country Companions! I got it confused with the Forever Friends, which I used to stitch at the same time. Sounds like you have the right idea with the spines. I think they were the reason that I gave up on that particular project LOL
