Happy Saturday crafty people! I’m back with an entry for the Male Room Challenge which has the prompt “nature”.
After Christmas I treated myself to a starter set of alcohol inks from Ranger and a pack with three additional colours. I decided that I should have a play and after watching a couple of videos on you tube I created these backgrounds with the blending tool and blending solution. I was pretty happy with them for a starter, I love the look and they are so shiny in person.
Even though it’s winter I decided to go with an autumnal theme for my card and to use that lovely orange background. I also used a tree die from Sue Wilson and cut it from a dark brown and then cut the leaves from my alcohol ink backing. It’s a really lovely effect and so glossy.
I think you get a bit better idea of the leaves in this picture.
I think I’m going to have fun playing with these inks! Thanks for visiting Ginger Ninja Crafts, have you tried alcohol inks and if so, do you have a favourite technique? I’d love to hear your top tips in the comments.

Wonderful card. The alcohol pieces look fabulous. Enjoy your new craft stash. You will never leave the craft room now!! Favorite technique is to put it on shaving foam (or similar) to give a marbled effect.

I haven’t really ventured into alcohol inks but they always look such fun, and your papers are great. Love the card too and think its perfect for a male.
