Happy new year crafty people! I hope you had a good end to 2018 and that you are looking forward to lots of fun times in the coming year.
I’m not one for making resolutions, well that’s not strictly true! I’ve been very good at making them and then even better at not achieving them and then feeling generally rubbish about it. Last year I didn’t really set myself any goals but there was a few things that I wanted to try and the year flew past and I didn’t make the time.
So this year I’m not giving anything up, instead I’m focusing on some things that I want to do for fun . I thought I would share my list here and I can post an update every now and then to see how I am getting on during 2019.
- Learn to crochet (I even got a book for Christmas so I have no excuse!)
- Pick up one of my unfinished cross stitch projects.
- Start an art journal and practice using mixed media techniques.
- Read 50 books
- Visit a castle (or other Historic Scotland site) every month.
They aren’t all crafty but I thought I’ll keep them all in one place for accountability.
I’d love to hear if you have any crafty plans for 2019. Are you learning anything new or picking up something you haven’t done for a while? Thanks so much for visiting Ginger Ninja Crafts and I hope you’ll pop over again soon.

I can share some crochet video tutorials that really helped me…you’ll love it, it is so relaxing! Do you need a travel buddy? ☺

That would be fantastic Wendy, I think videos would be really helpful. It’s slow progress reading the description and trying to figure out what it means! I think my brain used to find it easier to learn new things but it’s a bit foggy (might be mince pie overload!). Hehe you’re welcome on our castle exploring adventures around Scotland! x

Great crafty plans, it would be good to start the Christmas card stash early. Someone mentioned there is a Christmas alphabet challenge with prompts to make cards throughout the year, I think I might check it out this year. Good luck with all your crafts in 2019 🙂

Hi Jenny, not sure if you still read my blog but if you do you will know that every third week I share a SAL(stitch-a-long) picture. This SAL is unlike any other as we all do our own project and it was designed to give each other support whilst tackling UFO. No pressure and do what you can but it has certainly helped me complete one large project and I am close to finishing a 2nd. So pop over and look it tells you how to join there. Also like you I have plans for 2019 and they will be on the blog tonight or tomorrow too. WISHING YOU AND YOURS A WONDERFUL YEAR AHEAD IN 2019 XX.

Hi Jenny
thanks for stopping by on my blog. Just wanted to say: I taught myself to crochet in 2017 using books & videos on youtube so hope you manage to do the same this year! It’s been such a learning curve for me but, oh so much fun!
