Bee Happy – Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

Happy Monday crafty people!  I hope you all had a good weekend and this week has a productive start.  Today I’m sharing my entry for the 349th Freshly Made Challenge.  The sketch is as follows….

FMS349

Initially I was hesitant to take part as I was a bit intimidated by all that white space but I decided to interpret the sketch with a bit more colour and have a go anyway!  I used a die and stamp from this Meadow Flowers set free with the current issue of Papercraft Essentials magazine.

I also used a honeycomb stencil and two of the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders (Rich Gold and Scarlet Mist) to create the panel.  I used a black sharpie to outline the edges of the panel and mat layered it on some sunny yellow card.

I used the “Bee happy” sentiment from the stamp set and cut the bee from yellow and black card and vellum.  I cut and paper pieced these three layers to give the bee it’s stripey body and soft vellum wings.  To finish off the card I added a few sequence for a bit of bling.

I’d love to hear what you think of my card and if you are entering this challenge too.  Thanks again for stopping by the blog and I hope to see you again soon.

  1. I love how you filled the white spaced. Such a lovely technique with that honeycomb and so perfect with that wonderful bee! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
